Isn't there one at Lilleys Landing???

That was a rabid wolf with a warble worm in his head. Unfortunately, the sheep were probably without protection as they were in a theater that did not condone CCW, probably. Most theaters are that way around here. And since us CCW types are law abiding citizens, checked out by the FBI and the local sheriff, trained in the law of CCW, their arms were probably in their cars. It is a tragic event, obviously a sick crazy that wanted to make a name for himself. But many died and many young children were injured. They will never be able to fry him hard enough to pay for what he has done. Pray for the families and the jury that will send him off to prison.

I have never discounted that man has polluted the environment in various ways. I have an issue with pollution and things can and have been done to control what we do to the environment. But to be as arrogant as to say we have changed the cycles of the earth, I have an issue with that. And to think buying carbon credits will change it back to the way it was is the silliest dam thing I have ever seen any man come up with.

No, they don't really look at it over a long period of time. They adjust the scale to fit their needs. Earth has changed many times in the last 3 billion years. We have been in a period of global warming since the last Ice Age. Before that, it was a big cool down. I don't deny we are getting warmer, we have been since the Ice Age. I think it is arrogant on the part of man to think that they can change the cycles of the earth at this stage of the game and our present intelligence level..... Nature will run its course. Now if you want to claim your part in the scheme of things, call it pollution. That what it has been called in the past. Attack it that way, people would be far less offensive.

Unfortunately, we are currently in a period of global warming, its JULY. Come this fall, we will have global cooling, at least in this portion of longitude north of the equator. Sunspots.

380 is a worthless caliber, but it must have left a blood trail. Someone had to check into the ER to pull the bullets out from under his skin... Nothing smaller than a 380 long for me, 9mm full caliber. The 9mm short had never impressed me ballistically, even with new modern loads. That is the glory of CCW, and what all future criminals will have to account for. One citizen that has the capability to prevent him from carrying out his crimes. Makes some think twice. Crime rates go down. It is a win, win situation.

Nice. I like the adapter you made for the boat trailer too. It gives me an Idea!!!

Write A Recommendation And Get Oa Stickers Free
jdmidwest replied to Phil Lilley's topic in General Angling Discussion
I have a sticker from the past. And I have brought many friends on here and will continue to do so every chance I get. Phil, you bend over backwards to make this forum the slickest run forum around. You constantly upgrade the software. You have very little down time, this site is always open. I hope the financial returns from your efforts are worth the time you spend keeping it going. -
Sunspots, the answer to everything that affects our planet.

I have used sheets of craft foam that is sticky on one side with pretty good luck too. I don't bother with the slits, too much hassle sticking them back in on the stream. It is easier for me to just run the hook up inside of the foam. I have a few boxes that have wasted space in them. I add a few strips of the craft foam and can pack several more flies into them. I like the clear boxes, you can see what is in them.

Pflieger makes no distinction between a striper and a white bass other than the single row of teeth on the white tongue vs double row of teeth on the striper. Whites have more of a hump where the head transitions into the body in front of the dorsal fin. This one in the pic shows a hump like a white bass. There was no definition regarding the hybrid bass in the book, and it was a recent revision.
-
What kind of foam did you use and where did you find the clear boxes?
-
Its a confusing fish. Maybe Pflieger has a better way of telling them apart.

It usually takes the new help at the local Mexican Restaurant about a month to recover from it. I think the bees made a comeback quicker..... -
Hybrid Bass have broken lines along the top by the dorsal fin. Spine on the gill cover and distinctive teeth on the back of the tongue. http://mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/field-guide/hybrid-striped-bass-wiper-whiterock-bass White Bass have the unbroken lines and single heart shape teeth on the tongue. http://mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/field-guide/white-bass Striped Bass, dorsal fins are separated. Tongue patch like the hybrid. http://mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/field-guide/striped-bass Looks like a nice white bass to me.

I used to run a company of my own, and I was the tech support staff. 24/7 support. But there were very few after hours calls. Now days, I am in sales of a non critical product and I provide no technical support. I rarely give out my cell phone. My territory does not have good cell coverage. Many have said they have been trying to call me but I never have a message anywhere. Then they say they just "assume" I would see a missed call and return it. No service, no missed call. At least when they are forced to call the office, they have to leave a message or deal with a person. But then there is always the one in the office that gives them my cell and the circle starts again. There is no service at Crane Lake. Top of the hill at Marble Creek. None in the St. Francois valley north of Sam A Baker.

It is hard to tell, you need to see the lines clearly and count the fin rays to identify. That is the first time I have heard a hybrid called a sunshine bass. I have seen them called wipers.

This new hobby is turning out to be a nice time killer in the afternoons. I did not have to water the garden this afternoon, nature blessed me with 2/10 inch. The bees seemed to like it. They started off with about 30 hovering and going in and out when I got home. 10 or 15 were cleaning off the landing pad. After 30 minutes of watching the hive came alive for some reason. Bees starting pouring out of the hive opening and the 2 upper holes in the super. The air was full of bees, from the ground to the top of the trees. That lasted for about a half hour and they all returned to the hive and resumed normal activity. Best I can tell it was the increased humidity and the heat that turned them on. I was under the impression that you needed to keep the hive cool in the summer, but the temp inside is normally kept at 98 degrees. I am going to move it into more sun tomorrow evening to see if it spurs early activity more. -
Install ONSTAR in your vehicle and you should be good to go. I think it is satellite based. No other cell service that I am aware of in that area. Verizon has a chart on their website that shows coverage. 24/7 sucks. No down time at all?

White Bass. Good eating and fun to catch. Cut out the red meat.

How To Purify The Water Of The Eleven Point River For Drinking?

A good case of Beaver Fever and the spincther gives way, you never know what bowels are. Your digestive system becomes a free flow device. I have watched locals come down to Lassiters access at Mammoth Springs and fill up jugs of "spring water" for drinking. Of course, just before, ducks were swimming and pooping and someone cleaned some trout at the same boat ramp. Even some shallow dug wells are not really fit to drink out of due to farm runoff and other sources of E Coli. But you see many swallow large amounts of water swimming in ponds that I would wash my feet after I loaded a boat. -

Spring water goes thru a karst system that does some filtering, it does nothing to the bacteria along the way. You still need to kill the bugs in the water to make it safe to drink. In rain events, the springs will turn muddy also. Miles downstream from where cattle are in the stream and it stinks from the urine and feces, the water clears up and you would never know it because of dilution. But it is still there in the water. Big Spring on the Current has just turned cloudy due to the drought. http://www.semissourian.com/story/1871267.html -

Pollen is used as bee feed, the nectar is made into honey which is stored for food when pollen runs out. They are collecting the pollen and storing it in special cells around the brood comb. Pollen is fed to the developing brood in the hive. The nectar they collect is made into honey and stored in different areas of the hive as a survival food source in winter. While the bees are not needed to pollinate corn, the pollen on the tassels are a good source of food this time of year. Pollen is collected on the leg sacs of the bee, nectar is swallowed and regurgitated at the hive. The honey you eat is essentially bee puke. It is funny how they pick and choose their sources of food, but mostly it is how deep the stamen is inside the flower and how much trouble they have to go to getting to the sweet nectar. Honey bees prefer smaller flowers like white clover, beans, melons, cucumbers, etc. Bigger bees like the masons will be on deeper flowers like squash and honeysuckle.
