  1. My brother and I fished Grand Glaize arm on Saturday. we ended up with 9 bass over 15 inches...largest at 5lbs. Several keeper bass jumped off in mid air. Water was 65-70 and dirty, clarity was 1-3 inches depending. Fished secondary points with 10" black worm....lots of short fish on crankbaits, crappie are all over hitting whatever as well.
  2. There are 2 lots next to my house down compton ridge road...about an acre or two total. great building lots, secluded, on paved road with great table rock views. The MLS # is 325524, but the pictures on that listing are terrible..i didnt even recognize the lot from the pics...best to just drive down and take a look at them, they are pretty nice, cant believe no one has bought them yet, but they have only been up for sale for a month or 2. I would rather a good ole fisherman buy them, then city slicker
  3. Capt. Don, I went out last evening in the rain for 2-3 hours... I tried secondary points with c-rig and shakey head...I zeroed out, definetly angler error. I just couldnt get them to hit it, but did manager a couple keepers in the back of coves in 5-10fow on texas rig. One thing to note, I did see a big 6-8lb bass cruising near the suface in 15 fow, with a male beside her right next to my boat. They both followed my bait as I reeled in, like a musky would do.... then they were gone. STRANGE!!
  4. Thanks Don, Bummer about the fish getting taken off the beds and moved to new location I am not really interested in catching bedding fish, mainly the fish in the 6-15 fow range cruising to eat something However; in your opinion, or others, what would be a good bait for the secondary point bite (carolina rig, wiggle wart) Thanks,
  5. Went fishing a little on Sunday in the rain, really cold, windy and wet, did manage to lose a nice LM at the boat on texas rig, about 15 foot of water. Went yesterday evening to see what the water/fish were like. The water on the DAM end was stained and clear depending on the spots you were at. Water is up 2-3 foot, I cruised shallow to see if fish stay on beds in times like these and it appeared most of the fish I say, abandoned their nests. I dont know if less sunlight due to to high water does this or what. I did manage 1 short bass in about 1 hour. Water is still on the rise. Can anybody tell me (us) what spawning bass do in a situation like this, do they head deep, build a new nest shallow, or just forget the whole thing...water temp was 58 degrees, down from 63-65
  6. I have always used the cheapo sunglasses from gas stations or wal-mart (still do by the way) but I did try a pair of Costa Del Mars on from a fishing guide in Mexico and tried another brand (dont know the name) from a fishing guide in S.California...both pair were UNBELIEVABLE and put mine to shame shame shame...; however, I still use the cheapos...makes me not fell bad when I drop them in the water and I do that a lot...
  7. I have had no luck on spinnerbait lately or crankbait for that matter. My big fish have come in 6-10' FOW on texas rig plastics. I wonder if the real, real big fish are cruising that depth waiting for their turn to spawn. Not sure what they are feeding on, but I'll keep trying
  8. I have not been to truman this year, but my father and his fishing buddies fished there last thursday thru sunday...very slow bass bite for them, very slow with only a couple keepers, although they were in the 4lb range Dad said that guys in boats and on shore were slaying the crappie by the bucket full. He was in the Windsor Crossing area. Thats all the info I have on that..good luck
  9. Lots of different views on ethanol in gas...all I know is it isnt good. However.... ROCK LANE RESORT AND MARINA, on the east side of Indian point, near Jakes creek sold me gas on Saturday, 91 octane, ethanol free for $2.75 per gallon. I thought that was very reasonable and a cheap peace of mind with no ethanol in the blend. What are other fuel prices on the lake?
  10. Phil, IYO...where are the crappie. I have casted the last 3 days for them here and there, in areas where they should be, and even seeing them on the graph...are they not moving up yet? did we miss it? On Truman, they are all over the banks,,, what gives
  11. Phil, Would a chiropractor be more of a "quick fix", then you have to keep going back until I quit fishing 50 years from now...or, in your opinion, do you think going to a chiro once would be able to "solve" solve the fishermans back pain once and for all. I have no opinion one way or the other b/c I have never gone to a chiro., just looking for opinions of people who have in this case thanks
  12. I too just had that problem 2 weeks ago, i was taking exedrin and that worked really well...try shifting your weight to each foot every now and then...other than that, i dont know what to say. I couldnt sleep at night b/c it hurt so bad, especially with all the wind we are having
  13. 21 foot tracker deck boat...beige and i have buzz haircut and am in my late 20's...usually hanging around jackes creek area
  14. Finally, I am back from Vegas business trip and got out yesterday and today..windy both days. Managed 1 keeper largemouth in the hour I was out last night and 2 keeper largemouth today (1 @ 4lb, 1 @ 3.2 and 2 nice smallies over 2) Everything was on texas rig green pumpkin plastics in the dam area....4-10 fow.....I saw lots of beds, but all little males making the nests. My fish we females hanging out deeper waiting for their nests to be made
  15. I used to fish out of a 1953 14' alumnicraft with a 15hp motor...really great fish catching boat, but not too good to look at. People would always cut in front of me fishing banks, back of coves, etc...However, one day I did get my revenge.... My brother and I were out fishing one Saturday morning in May, bass were shallow then...there was a Ranger tournament that day (not a slam on Rangers...I love em; just stating the fact of the day) and the tourney guys in the Ranger were watching my brother and I catching bass like no body's business, finally when we were taking out of the cove, they ran us down only to ask what we were using and where to go fishing...we politely responded, then joked to ourselves later that the guys who fish in kayaks, smaller boats, older boats, etc... are usually the ones to watch out for, as they usually catch fish and are confined to slowing their presentation and cant run up and down the lake all day..... Now I have a 21' boat with a 150hp merc, but I always give respect to the guys in the little boats, b/c afterall, we all have fished out of them at one time or another. I am in las vegas working until tomorrow afternoon, then off to the lake...I am having fishing withdrawels bigtime here.
  16. FINALLY...I think I got it...4.5 years of college, 2 years of a masters degree and it took a fisherman "techo" to help me find the compress button....priceless Anyway, here is the smallie I caught sat morning on a grub, weighed right at 4lbs...
  17. Techo..where is the picture manager....after i have downloaded my pics to my pc, then what do i do....thanks
  18. I caught a nice 4lb smallie by the dam, on a grub. I must be an idiot, because I can not get the images to load here at all. I click browse, then upload and it takes forever to work, then it never uploads. Whats the deal? Anyone?!? If I get help, I can post pics...I always get pics of my catches, but cant get it to upload Thanks
  19. Only caught one last night, only out for about an hour...it was a nice fat healthy ky, caught on a grub on steep ch rk bank. the wind would come and go, then it just left me...water clarity was really really clear.
  20. Great...good luck... I'll let you know how I do, come on an scrub that grub!!!!!
  21. Dudes....I have been a member since 2006 and know better than to keep my bass Even if i did, and i dont...i would never open that can of worms... When i say limit, i mean a 5 bass stringer over 15 inches....that is all, heading out tonight for an hour or two and try to catch my "limit", then photo them, then release them unharmed for my wife to catch. Good fishing
  22. Cant get pic to upload..sorry
  23. Fished yesterday 5-6pm around dam, windy chunk rock banks, caught my limit of lm and ky's, then had to go home. All on green pumpkin double tail grub, scrubbing the bottom, although I didnt find much moss at all on my bait and I was hitting the bottom a lot...guess it depends where you are. Attached is a nice fat 2.7lb lm...
  24. Thanks a bunch, When should i concentrate on lighter lit areas...post spawn??? Do they move shallower at night and attract to bugs? I am new to night fishing and am pretty clueless where to start and what to use Thanks so much!!
  25. I put in near Indian point on wednesday, only had time to fish for about 1 hour...caught my limit in 1 hour of keeper ky's and sj... all on double tail grub on windy ch rock bank.. Took the wife out on saturday from 9am-330pm, i had 2 fish come off and that was it ,,, so bummed, i couldnt find them anywhere, threw gubs, jigs, wiggle wart, swimmin minnow, just not my day i guess I'll be back out tues-sunday nights. I did night fish wednesday night from 10-midnight and caught one google eye. Am i supposed to be fishing near dock light at night this time of year? Or, the same points.banks I catch fish during the day? Any advice would be great
