    World Cup

The one that squeezed you tight and nearly broke your spine?
  2. 5 and 7?? How did that happen so quick? No idea on RV hookups -- we stayed indoors on the other side of the park. All kinds of trout fishing opportunities there. Need to go up high if you're interested in a native brookie, browns and rainbows have crowded them out down low. Very cool area and a beautiful park.

    World Cup

Maria told me I was the only one.
  4. Yeah, right. Like I'm gonna believe some random, anonymous internet dude when I have thousands of hours of fishing shows, made by real live pros with video cameras, that demonstrate the opposite.

    D-Day

i didn't appreciate it enough when I was a kid. A lot of those guys were dads and uncles and grandpas. A couple years ago I saw an older couple eating lunch, and the man had on one of those military caps that said Omaha Beach. I sat down next to them and started to chat. Sure enough, he had been there on the day. He was an engineer that used a Bangalore torpedo to blow out the barbed wire. He was in all the way to the end in Germany. I thoroughly enjoyed talking with him, and I don't think he minded. I would have loved to spent the afternoon talking with them. Heroes in our midst, and there are fewer and fewer of them each day.
  9. That's cool. I see it's gonna be on golf channel tonight.
  10. That's very cool. Somehow I'm not surprised they are so grounded. Did you meet Tommy and Jack? I figure you did, but just gotta ask.
  11. Boy, those are some great golfers there. I'd bet it's a thrill to get to see them in person. Looks like a beautiful course too.
  12. For less than a tank of gas http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0961459956/ref=tmm_other_meta_binding_new_olp_sr?ie=UTF8&condition=new&sr=8-1&qid=1402087361
  13. I'd just cut out anything that isn't going to make it now, rather than let it die. Unless you got damage way down to the main stems they'll probably make a comeback. Beans are kinda fragile, especially early on.
  14. I kinda thought that too, Kelroy. Seems way too fast for a retrieve. Just goes to show you...

    Internet

Probably just the NSA updating their records.
  16. I still don't like that guy.
  17. I don't like that guy.
  18. I really don't know better. Just not something I have experience with. Seems like a pretty bad idea to ride on the gunwale when the boat is traveling at a pretty fast clip, especially if the water is choppy -- like can be expected on a big latrine like LOZ. I guess there's common sense, and there's the law. Regardless, the cattle prod is a pretty good idea -- maybe Water Patrol needs them to keep the riffraff in check.
  19. Article makes it sound like allowing someone to ride on the gunwale is illegal -- is that the case?
  20. Well, as usual, we really need to get the facts before we judge -- and I think they'll be pretty straight forward. It is illegal to drink <21 and it is illegal to operate a boat under the influence. Reports say procedure was to handcuff and put on a life vest. Whether it was put on properly will have to be determined. Whether the kid jumped, fell, whatever will have to be determined. I'm not sure I could stand up in a moving boat with handcuffs sober. I'm sure sorry for the kid and his friends and family. I'm also sorry for the highway patrolman who surely didn't want this to happen or knowingly endanger the kid.
