    My tummy tells me this isn't a great idea, but I don't think some of the arguments laid out by the CFM pass the smell test. 1.5 million people spending $65 million because it's a national park? Poof, it's gone if the state takes over? $32 million in deferred maintenance the state would get saddled with? That's a lot of boat ramps and trash cans. But, I honestly have no idea what all they've got. Not disagreeing, but the skeptic in me sees holes in this.

    Stumbled onto it this morning.Typical reality show formula. Get some goofy characters, manufacture some tension between them, tease you with the big blow up, drag it out as much as possible, rewind and show the tease after every commercial, then it just doesn't happen. It's a complete farce and I'm done with it.

    Sorry to hear that Al. That's a real nice write up on him too. He's really pretty lucky he was still able to get out and do things at an advanced age, and had a couple sons that helped make it happen.

    Back in the 40s, when I was just starting out, I pretty routinely caught 25 to 30-inch bronzebacks all over the Ozarks. We always ate them. Got struck my lightning fishing on the 'nade in about 1951 and I haven't caught one since.

    I'd probably stop short of calling this an ethical thing -- it's more like a personal preference thing. If it's legal and doesn't hurt anything, it's up to you. Life's too short to get worked up over other people's methods. If they're interfering with your fishing, just head over to see Yakov, or the Abba tribute band, or Shoshi, or Ray Stevens, or little Jimmy Osmond, or the Mandrells, or Mel Tillis.

    This thread is timely because I've been bugging the missus to make meatloaf and she did just last week. She glazes it with a ketchup/brown sugar/mustard sauce that's a lot like BBQ. Darn fine eating right there.
