I gotta admit I'd never heard of this guy until he was brought up on this forum a while back. I see he's written some books and has a magazine -- neither of which I've seen before. Are you guys seeing him in newspaper columns or something?

Just saw this Jason. I see some folks don't like the glass -- too heavy or fragile. I don't disagree that they are heavier. And yeah -- you drop them on some concrete they'll either chip or break. The trick is not to do that -- and I've managed not to in 10+years with one pair by keeping them on a lanyard. The little micro scratches that plastic get kinda sneak up on you. They build up on the lenses and at some point you realize they're crap. Glass won't get those. Photochromic is really nice. If I was fishing on reservoirs with the sun beating down on me all day I probably wouldn't like them as much. But when you're in the shadows they're great. I drive with them too, and I'll often forget I've got them on and drive well into dusk.

I guess we need to go over this material again.... There is no evidence of a breeding population. See the difference from what you said? They're not saying, and they have no incentive to say, there isn't a breeding population. They want to see the evidence before they make the statement. All, or darn near all, of the ones they've examined have been males. Do we need to go over that material again too?

I think the videos are pretty fun to watch. I like seeing the locales about as much as I like seeing the fish. Heck, maybe even more. Don't really care to see a bunch of bare-chested good ol' boys dangling fish by the lip. It's not easy to come up with a completely original shot or angle. But that's only part of the deal anyway. There's learning the equipment, software, editing, etc. Part of the learning process is seeing someone else's work that you like and trying to recreate it. The more you do it, the better you get at it and eventually you move into creating your own. So keep plugging away at it fellers.

Yeah, Bill Self said he didn't see a reason to play. Good for you -- you've got that to latch onto ...forever, I guess. Time will tell if they play again, but it will never be the same with different conferences. Can't be. You keep on hoping these new rivalries develop, but you're pushing with a string. Best you can hope for is a tight conference race every now and again, but it will never have the sizzle of a good old fashioned, hate the other guy, century-old rivalry. You guys screwed it up.

I wonder if your chances of a snake bite, getting lost in the woods, needing a space blanket, etc. go up at all when you're in the woods? Or do your chances just follow the average of the 7 billion or so people who aren't currently in the woods?

Aw c'mon. That's some of the worst spin I've ever seen on the subject. Are you spokeman for MU on this? Have you got some inside skinny on them playing soon -- of course should KU want to. And 'just fine playing' doesn't equal 'great rivalries'.

I agree -- both those stories are just stupid people owning guns. I think the opposition to gun safety training was a knee-jerk reaction though. Parents and teachers thinking they shouldn't have to submit their kids to that -- just fix it another way.They teach 'Stranger Danger' and 'Stop, drop, and roll' at schools. Why not discuss gun safety? It sounds a little crazy at first, but it shouldn't be a full blown how-to-handle-a-gun class. More 'leave it alone' training for the kids and maybe drag the parents into another room and tell them how to be safe with a gun in the house. But, there are so many accidents lately. A couple years ago some dumba** shot a gun off 4th of July in KC -- killed a little girl a few blocks away. A toddler in Independence was killed last summer when he found dad's gun under the sofa cushion. A few weeks ago a 4 year old girl in KC was killed by a 6 year old boy. Last month a 12 year old kid in Breckenridge, MO killed himself while messing around with a gun. Some numbskull (who had a CC permit) accidentally shot his wife in the leg at a restaurant in Lenexa in January. Along a different line -- this morning's paper had a story about a highly touted football prospect in KC who had offers from K-State and other schools. He and some other teens are accused of robbing some folks at gunpoint. I think we've gotten to the point where guns are cool and people, especially younger people, who have no clue what they're doing are buying them just to be a bada**,
