I had to run out and pick something up today and there was a Cousins Maine Lobster food truck out there, and I hadn't had lunch. Last time I saw them there was a really long line that I wasn't going to wait through. Something like an hour they said. Today, no waiting, so I bit. No prices on the menu, but I thought, 'How much could a lobster roll be?' $26 is how much! Oh, and an auto tip of 20%, which they didn't get. Ouch! It was darn good though.

Geez. So sad, especially when it's young folks on a good life trajectory. I'll pray for the two boys, their families, you and your daughter. Landen can't be replaced but I hope his example influences people and the way they interact going forward.

Fairly boring here too. We did have some friends stay with us this weekend so did a couple things. Haven't made lasagna in a long time. Recipe right off the box. And a standard breakfast casserole.

Muskrat Love, NOT

Look you guys: I suffer from chronic ear worm-itis. If I catch either one of those, I'm gonna be pist! -
Two things I think make better kid shots: 1) Get on their level, and 2) catch them when they're not looking at you. You got them both in here.

I've got nothing for you on getting rid of muskrats. But .... I would like to say that's the best thread title I've seen in a very long time! -
Spinach and chard salad with roasted beets and sweet potatoes, goat cheese, walnuts, etc. Frozen ravioli and jarred marinara. We did grate the Parmesan. Not too shabby

Yeah, that subtraction thing doesn't always work right. Best to use fingers and toes in these cases.

I thought the same thing. No phone or tablet in her face either.

We've been making a couple quarts of yogurt weekly for the last two months and are really enjoying it. We've tweaked the time and temp a little and now have it perfected to our taste. I thought I'd give an update. We heat a half gallon of whole milk (pasteurized, but not ultra pasteurized) up to 200 in the microwave. It takes about 18 minutes done in 6 minute batches, stirring in between. Cool it down to 110 in a cold water bath in the sink. Put about a quarter cup of the previous batch into each quart jar as a starter, add the milk, seal it and sous vide at 110 for 12 hours overnight. In the morning stir it a bit-- there's a little liquid to incorporate and lumps to work in. Chill for a few hours. We really like the thinner consistency done this way. It's pourable but pretty thick. Tartness is just right. I put about a tablespoon of warmed up jam in a dish and mix in the yogurt. The missus likes it plain or with some granola. Not much to look at, but here's some with gooseberry jam mixed in. Or fruit. Some dead ripe peaches.

Very nice shot! I'm hoping to get another before they migrate. Meanwhile, looking out the window this afternoon, we saw a fox under the deck next door then he moved out into their yard. Rusty was beside himself wanting to go out and say hi. I grabbed the camera and went around but he was gone. I'd love to get a shot of him. Kathy found a pile of fur in the yard this week but with the bobcats we figured it was one of them. We're glad foxes are back! Too many rabbits and squirrels around here.

Seems like I heard too much was bad for you or something. Cigarettes too. 😀

Had to keep a Ticonderoga #2 in the glove box😀

Agree-it sounds like they'd me nasty and I was hesitant at first but they can be good.

Driving the backroads through Florida years back I remember the roadside boiled peanut stands. All kinds of flavors, and many were pretty good. Pronounced 'bowled' peanuts.

Seeds are a must when I'm on a road trip. The only problem is they're loaded with salt and wear down your teeth 😀
