    What's Cooking?

Got this recipe from a magazine years ago. Called Hawkeye Chowder. Onion, celery, corn, creamed corn, zucchini, potatoes, butter, cream. Not low cal:
  2. That reminded me -- a friend's dad's company had a suite at Kemper Arena and I saw Styx on their dime. Late 70's.
  3. I guess probably Woodstock was my most famous concert. I was pretty young and don't remember a lot except my mom Sunshine was covered in mud and kept getting the stroller stuck. Paul McCartney and Wings at Kemper Arena ~ 1978. Fleetwood Mac (with Linsey Buckingham, no Christine McVie) at Sprint Center 2013 Saw Eagles at Sprint Center a couple years ago. I popped for really good seats for that one. This was after Glenn Frey had died and they had Vince Gill and Frey's son to fill in. So, not the lineup of their prime, but there have been so many in and out of that band that it's hard to really say who 'they' are other than Frey and Henley. They sprinkled in some of Frey, Henley and Gill's solo work. Also some James Gang. After the encore they all left the stage except 70-ish Joe Walsh. He kinda wandered around for a bit, then tipped over a stool, smiled and walked off

I saw it in one of those theaters where you eat a meal and sit in a recliner. I didn’t make it through the movie.

So good. 'I already get my hair cut at Cotton Corral.' 'I already made like infinity of those at Scout camp.' I'm starting to think @Mitch f and I could get along
  8. Well, I sure as heck wasn't gonna say anything about it

    What's Cooking?

A few recent ones. Pork green chili on corn tortillas with egg and a little cheese: Biscuits and gravy: First try at pretzels. Plain salted and cinnamon and sugar. Fairly good but a little doughy at the cross where it’s thickest. Also probably would add the cinnamon and sugar later in the bake next time. Got a little too dark. Also, we might just do rods or bites next time. Less work, more consistent cook. But...the kids gobbled these up: Made a beer and cheese sauce that was pretty good -- just winged it. Roux, beer, cheese, cayenne, grainy mustard.

Looks good! I like the soft-focus effect
  21. Dad handed my brother and I down a couple Browning A5 Light 12s. I still use mine and love it. Take good care, use the right load and set the rings right and it's good. Got a Citori White Lightening 20 ga. in my sights. Don't need a 5-shot auto when 1, rarely 2, are all I ever need .
  22. My dad had one and I don't remember it giving him any trouble, but I do hear that gripe occasionally.
