Quoting her -- White supremacist types or anarchists.
-
Just got off the phone with a friend of mine. She's a talented photographer and went down to the Plaza in KC to observe the protests and take some pictures. Her plan was to get to a building top or parking garage for a good vantage point. Those were blocked off so she decided to cautiously walk along the edge with them and take pictures. According to her, the overwhelming majority of the crowd were peaceful, but there were a handful of real instigators in there trying to rile the rest up. She got yelled at by few people for taking photos/video -- they said the cops can use the photos to come after them. She said she was a little shook up by the confrontations and started to rethink her plans. Before she got out of there the cops ended up tear gassing the crowd and she got it too. Later she talked to a cop and she said sure they'd like to take a look at her pictures and video

Yeah-stem a foot up is thicker than the stem at just above ground level. Goes against common sense!

This pic was earlier in the week. Tomatoes are really taking off now. Peppers looking like they're going to finally shape up. All that lettuce you see to the left is harvested now. Bumper crop this year thanks to the cooler weather. Pulling a few snap peas now too. The second lettuce planting done in late April is coming on now. Succession planted more bush beans where the lettuce was and started more radishes. Tried a new lettuce this year -- Tom Thumb butterhead. Really good stuff that I'll do again. Very tender and sweet smallish heads.

No, never have. I kinda got this thing about Grandma Vi's recipes: I don't mess with them because I'm a sentimental wimp.

Well, look who's here! Welcome back!
-
Lettuce is abundant from the garden right now. Grandma Vi's wilted lettuce recipe will turn two gallon bags into a couple bowls of goodness quick! Bacon, bacon fat, red wine vinegar and sugar. Good stuff!

Go east young woman!

There's a better one than that cycling though. Keep hitting refresh

Well that was premature!

Amazon may take it back. Kinda bad manners if it's got coon stuff on it though. Certain things they won't take back even if you swear you never opened the package. I had a thing that was supposed to help me do something after I had my knee surgery. Never opened the box. (Deets not important, but nobody in their right mind would take this particular item back no matter how convincing my story.) They wouldn't take it back but did refund the money. I donated it (still unopened) to the company that was doing my physical therapy.

They can also walk across bridges. I've seen it.

rps said he smoked it, so I assume a pretty low temp. But I know what you mean.

I'm curious -- what's ol' Roscoe's temperament like when you approach, pick up and carry him around? What's the release procedure? I don't like angry animals near me.

Grilled chicken salad tonight. Couple different types of lettuce from the garden-a butterhead and a red leaf. Some radishes, carrots and diced beets. Pounded chicken breast thin and dusted it lightly with blacken seasoning. Perty good.

Man, that's a lot of lettuce!! Those BilletHead pipes are gonna be clean! My tomatoes and peppers are finally coming out of the cold-weather funk. Looking pretty good, even the one I thought was probably not going to make it. A few blossoms but not a lot.

Getting that first harvest from the garden. Lotsa lettuce and radishes. One of our favorites Forellenschluss romaine: This one is a little butter head called Tom Thumb. Not a huge head but delicious and beautiful in the garden: Yugoslavian Red. Another goodun: Beans are coming along nicely. These are Dragon Tongue bush: Little variety of snap peas called Sugar Bon: And the herbs in pots.

On the deck rail tonight...grilled strip steak with Montreal seasoning, baked tater, ness garden salad (Red Salad Bowl lettuce, French Breakfast radish and some other stuff) and a fruit salad. Fruit salad was from a neighbor we helped out earlier in the week. Kid explained it just like mom had told him...’with a lime and honey drizzle’. 😄 Cole slaw. Nailed the steak. I don’t always.

Edit: This was hilarious.

You dribbled on the floor...

Sometimes you gotta let autocorrect stand. 😄 (Baked cod)

I gotta admit I love our American-Chinese food. I’d likely struggle with Chinese-Chinese food. Tonight it was some naked code with lemon pepper and panko. Wedge salad with ranch. Salad won.
