That's kinda where I am on this too. I'm not ready to believe too awful much that's out there at this point, whether it be normal media channels or the homemade stuff. It will take some rigorous review and analysis to understand this whole thing, and that won't come quickly.

Saw something in the news today about a virus that's sweeping the globe. Something like 100,000 dead and almost 2,000,000 confirmed cases. This is scary!

I had a little patch in my back yard. Tore it out a couple years ago because I was trying to reduce the amount of maintenance to do around here for me, or whoever bought this place if I sold. Well we're gonna be here a while and I really miss having it. It was never a bumper crop, but it was nice to get a little in March and April. It was always that one thing you could depend on to help drag you out of the winter doldrums. I miss it, but not the weeding involved.

Thanks. I could probably spent my evening Googling and not gotten as concise an answer. Please ask your wife if they’re accepting new members. 😄 We like their stuff a lot, especially their 2016 Cabernet, which we cleaned the liquor store out of this week.

@BilletHead I can tell by the size of the loaf and the picture of the slices you got a really good rise and nice bubbles/holes. Wouldn’t change a thing!! I’ve done the ATK recipe before both from hot and cold start. They both work. I think there was some discussion about getting a better last minute rise from the cold oven technique. But your results were so good, again — I wouldn’t change a thing!!

I did French loaves. Sourdough starter only in the dough. Overnight rise, then a few a few hours in the morning in the oven on bread proof setting (~80) before forming loaves and then back in the oven for a couple more hours on a French loaf pan. Baked at 450 for about 45 minutes in the pan.
