Fishing the Driftless
BilletHead replied to Ryan Miloshewski's topic in General Angling Discussion Archives
The BilletHead's may or may not be going at end of month also -
This is same brand is burner I am using. Camp Chef. As far as warping don't know yet but the thing is heavy.

We all had to start somehow. My problem is I am spilling over.

My Product review and a couple of breakfast meals. I will keep this outdoor related to cut down on the hate for our cooking thread. I love cooking outdoors camping or here at home. Our outdoor cooking area is not that big and space is at a premium price. Totally jealous of everyone's Blackstone griddles knock offs too. So I am sometimes a Alton Brown multi tasker so here is my answer to the outdoor griddle. We use our camp chef double burner explorer cooker all the time on the back screened in porch. I wanted a griddle for it. Now I of course have multiple round and rectangular vintage griddles that would fit on it but I needed a new toy. So i had two options. A large one that would fit the whole thing or a smaller one that would fit one burner. Just the two of us 99 percent of the time so got the small size. Fit well and has the drain tray and drain hole for fat capture. All the bells and whistles I suppose. Well up early and at 5:30 am bacon on to fry up. It would be BLTs for breakfast. Decent morning with ceiling fan on and a light to work under, cup of coffee what more could I ask for? This thing is the bomb. I like! Last Monday morning did hotcakes, It came pre seasoned. So far just a wipe up with paper towels. If space is limited you should look into this option.

Convert and confess your sins ask for Jesus to come into your heart. Then get you a big hallelujah bus. Paint it up and become a traveling Revival show. IT would do the world and you some good!

PS @Seth, I have no hard feelings at you. Your Post just hit at a bad time for me this morning as I am in a cranky mood. You just drew the short straw. Carry on!

All I did was voice my opinion like you did. Respond where I was called out. Personally once and generically where others said some of us were cheap for the donation for a chance to get a tag. Why Seth did you voice your opinion and call some of us gripers and we did probably for doing that on out of state licenses?

This is pretty neat. Where does a raindrop go?

That is a fact and it is a bad deal. I'm not going to open the can of worms of global warming but the world is and has been in flux and always changing. Ice ages and hot cycles. We have some control but mostly we are along for the ride. Life can be short enjoy it and hang on. -
This remark of trout parks being a joke again is something I am trying to get through to guys similar to what some say about the outlet and then after Phil's remark so much crawfishing and back crawling went on. I started at Bennett Springs and I started at the outlet on Taney But soon graduated to Natives in their native Habitat. Taney Fish are fun and you have them dialed in but again it is and introduced fish and unlike anything I have been lucky enough to target and catch. I have not fished Taney in along time but will again. It is what it is but to downplay what others like is becoming really bad on the forum lately. If I have done it on here on public I am sorry but this is crap IMO.

Oh again I get it Seth and I hope Elk make a comeback and become wild. Right now It will be like hunting in a national park. Yes I like the meat too. I spent bucks myself for big and small game but do you and others do it for the challenge or experience? I did and had lots of times not coming back with game. Bow hunting only, no high powered rifles. You and others know for what we all spend to chase and take a chance of coming home with game we could purchase meat cheaper. So is it right to call us that do not want to participate cheap or making it a big deal for voicing our opinion? Do I think it is silly for guys to spend so much money in boats and chasing minnows in places all over the country to catch and release? Heck no do what you like and like what you do. Heck I do similar things and spend way much more. Some of my best trips have been unsuccessful.

If you think about it this also shows us the what happens to the stuff that gets dumped in streams and the impacts it has at the initial dump site and traces farther downstream. At least man has learned in time and we don't dump pollutants like was done during the industrial revolution. -

Oh I have spent plenty of bucks out west in Montana, Wyoming, Minnesota and Colorado for guaranteed hunting tags for wild game. Fishing in New Mexico, Arizona, Oregon, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Minnesota, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Ontario. Between The wife and I we spend lots of bucks for many years and even yearly out of state licenses in a few places. None of these are cheap. So you and a couple others call me out for griping one saying I am making a big deal out of this un necessary? FOR STOCKED NOT WILD Practically TAME ELK? Really think about what you said. Right now you might as well do a high fence canned hunt. This may change someday and I hope it does, really I hope it will. I will also add some of you go to trout parks and brag about numbers of daily stocked fish. If you target old wise big fish I understand but just think about it would ya? Along time ago on the hunting but the fishing 18 plus years.

July 2nd-3rd Taneycomo Report
BilletHead replied to Ryan Miloshewski's topic in Upper Lake Taneycomo
It was the first place I caught a Taneycomo fish. Yes the outlet. I watched those at the steps and wanted so bad to try. Did a few times and was happy. Then I branched out. Yes I fished the outlet and will admit it. Had fun and I am sure may more of you have and even started there but may not want to admit it. I was one of those who got help from one of the regulars. It was in my infancy of the fly fishing sport. So I thank them. Now I am and have been called a fly fishing snob. It is a badge of honor. Yes this snob has been known to stoop to a spinning or bait casting reel in times of desperation . -

Southwest Road Trip (there's a little fishing)

Oh boy nice trip report with details. The kind I like and more to come. Thanks friend. -
Yes sorry, it's crazy here with company for a couple days. Got you covered. Figuring out the logistics of putting in post. Got a plan maybe. 😄

The ten bucks we in a day for stuff we want we have in hand, The 10 buck donation IMO to the possibility of the elk tag is like a fart in a gust of wind its gone but like you said if that ten bucks built up in a point system it would be an investment.
-
Still don't care for it. Not going to give Kentucky or PA. my money either. Should be part of my lifetime hunting and fishing permit We are talking Missouri my residency not out of state. If it was alike the daily trout tag and I was guaranteed to participate I would give it as ad administrative fee added to tag but to just give it away for a chance nope, no way. I like our MDC and the job it does for us but this is over the top IMO. If you were still here would you donate?

And they explode in a puff of dirt scattering wasp pupa and spiders used to feed the pupa.

Choice. I like that. Thankfully we have that here where we live. Thing is you can choose to drive 100 mph on the road but if you are caught you pay the price. Since we have a choice we should choose wisely. Some choose to roll the dice and get lucky. Some do not and pay dearly moneterly or worse with their life.
-
It is a non refundable 10 bucks to get in the drawing then if drawn another 50 bucks to hunt. The permit fee is fine like buying a deer tag. Trout park same you get to participate. The application fee they get to keep is what bothers me.

Agree 100 percent.

You bet Mike and pleasure meeting you too. Enjoy your skillets and catch some fish this weekend. I am betting our paths will cross again.
