  1. Bret, Do you have a front light on your rig? I have done a couple using that attachment point and it runs off the starting battery. Mine is not a high powered graph and not a big draw on my wiring. And of course your unit will be off when starting your outboard so as to not suck voltage on your Graph? BilletHead
  2. Did they taste and different than a blue cat or do you know? I guess I don't understand what the thought process is in the meaning of , BilletHead
  3. Pretty funny I have always thought of this. I will take out a snow if it presents itself but I am so darned tired after general season that under the late winter into spring snow goose conservation order there is no way I am killing them. That and it costs you more to do it. As far as Canada geese if you don't like eating them you are doing something wrong in your cooking method. So I bet 99% of the complainers here are eating caged chicken and eggs produced that way, your pork same thing and then feedlot beef. There is nothing raised nastier then domestic meats. Most of the BilletHead food is not raised in their own crap . Antibiotic and growth hormone free! BilletHead will grocery shop outside of the store as long as he can.
  4. You to MoCarp . I am glad I am an optimist about things. May Santa visit you and leave you a better outlook on your fellow man, BilletHead
  5. Do you see anywhere I said killing snow geese will make more mallards? There seems to be something wrong in your quote of what I said.
  6. Thanks Phil, We are dealing with someone who does not seem to know things. He assumes the worst in people when he doesn't understand. I am glad your friends ae doing well to our West. They can kill five mallards also in their six birds to our four here in the Mississippi flyway. More Canada geese in the daily and possession limits too, BilletHead
  7. Once again MoCarp you speak and assume before you know anything about what you cut and paste. Do you know anything about the population of snow geese and what they are doing to their breeding grounds? Since you are so good at research you should do just that, OK Skippy , BilletHead
  8. Hey man I hear you big time, Slow here too in BilletHeadVille. Here is to hoping this cold snap turns things around and Santa gifts skies full of set and cupped wings over your decoy spread. Merry Christmas and happy New year to you all too, The BilletHead's
  9. One Shot I would suggest you ask our resident carpoligist MoCarp this question. I am pretty sure he has possibly written a book on this. Maybe you two can share a hunt and if the big ones don't bite you can always eat the carp bait he makes. Either way i don't think you guys will go hungry . BilletHead
  10. Me too on not seeing this and one other post also. Nice rig and congrads on the new ride, BilletHead
  11. Subliminal message here, get this into your head buddy. DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT. BilletHead
  12. From the BilletHead's May there be peace on Earth and OAF
  13. Retro pictures I love it! Ok, ok whatever you say she is still better looking than you. How come she is still thin and you are now thick? . Not my fault John, it is the other John that made me do it, I really am thinking it isn't even going to get hard water here that bad. I made a run this morning and all remaining birds have bugged out and are coming your way. Hopefully there will be something filling the void. A rather deep snowline would be nice thirty miles north of BilletHeadVille, BilletHead
  14. Winter plus shad guts equal a good time. I used to do that to on the Osage river many moons ago, BilletHead
  15. No it doesn't. I get excited about most anything. BilletHead
  16. Ok first thing is there is a way Mr. Scientist to scan your photo and show us a trophy yellow perch. Second thing is now I have it figured why Mrs. Folly is younger and prettier than you are. YOU MARRIED YOUR STUDENT! Don't go telling us she was your classmate either . BilletHead
  17. Man! Oh how I wish you had brought that new toy to Jig Fest. We could of done some good stuff to the island behind the lodge. Right off the back porch. BilletHead
  18. There you go baiting me and then you hijack your own post. May your water stay in the liquid form, mine may not :). Aggravator! Have you caught your Missouri yellow perch yet? You know it does not count unless you catch it in it's native waters and bet you have that done already. BilletHead
  19. I guess Mitch it is an acquired taste. Nature of the beast white bass taste like you say a bit more fishy. Kind of an oxymoron. Fish should taste like fish. I personally think fish is breaded to death. We sometimes bread fish fancy to add flavor here in BilletHeadVille but to get the flavor of the natural fish and what it was made to taste like just plain flour with a bit of S&P. We like fresh white bass but even vac sealed whites do get stronger frozen. I could never understand when folks do all kinds of things to alter the taste of meats. God intended for fish to taste like fish, deer to taste like deer, duck to taste like duck. So on and so on. Overcooking kills flavor. A subtle seasoning or herb is really all we need and the star/standout of the dish should be the intended taste of the meat. If anyone doesn't like the taste of what they harvest they would be much better off buying the cheapest cut of meat and cover it up, bread and marinate it to death, cook and eat it. Mitch I know you know how to cook and I like your contributions in the cooking threads. I think white bass should taste like white bass. Make sense? Marty
  20. Well done buddy. I can tell you one thing but don't want to hijack your thread as ducks were not mentioned. You did much better than I did ! BilletHead
  21. Channel, Some folks call the male channel a blue like that when they spawn. They get darker, BilletHead
  22. John knows what I'm talking about. Both of us are looking for a cold snap that lasts. My problem on little waters is the H2O gets too hard for me. You wouldn't believe what I seen today it was so warm! Some of the hens I gave a pass to had bikinis on . BilletHead
  23. Nice job John, Last Evening I thought I might try to fish today and then I devised another plan and caught these instead. Kind of a last ditch effort before the freeze up. It is so warm one of these nice new friends of mine was carrying a little leach . Quick little shootout, BilletHead
  24. Things I say when taking Mrs. BilletHead fly fishing for the crappie, "Strip faster honey" (when she is over shallow brush). "Strip slower Honey" (when she is off of brush) See there Wrench crappie fishing can be sexy! If your not enjoying it you are doing something wrong , BilletHead
