Could be or maybe he is mad that my lettuce is growing better than his is . I bet if he invites all of us and puts sandpaper on the bottom of our shoes that deck will be taken care of fast. BilletHead

Get together? Did my invite get lost in the mail? Stupid post office anyway! Looks good, BilletHead

Let us say whoever it is it should not have happened. The trash and the guy with the sleeves ripped out of his too small tee shirt, belly hanging out and as he was culling his dead fish he did not want to carry out bent over with butt crack showing. Same guy unhooking and dropping fish in the gravel and then kicking them back into the water. Yes it was Susan that checked the Mrs. and I last week. She is very nice and we all had a nice visit. Would like to talk to her more sometime. Perhaps We will cross paths again. I thanked her for the job she does. BiletHead -

You won't see this type of person walk in this far with any kind of load. This type of person if they are paid were raised right. This type of person is on the lake in the high powered boat in debt up to his, well you know. The type of person leaving this trash has never learned to pick up after himself . We can leave out the redneck part if it makes you feel better? Got checked by the local warden too. She was out looking for early turkey hunters. I asked if there was a real problem with this? Yes she said there is a local bunch that hunt early around here. I really think the type of person you speak of MOPanfisher is not going to walk in a mile to catch white bass when they can spend their over paid wealth to eat something much better. If they can't do real work I don't see them making the trek through the tick infested woods. BilletHead -
Vonreed, You are going to find the hens in the Fall, https://nature.mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/field-guide/hen-woods-maitake If you do happen to find one out of that season please let us know , BilletHead

Just taunting us with the deck again aren't you? Just think what Julia Child would think of your old faded worn out cracked and broken DECK ? BilletHead

Now that me belly is full and satisfied we will get down to business, Back at it with the Mrs. Said she felt better this morning. I was going with or without her and she wanted to go. They were not going nuts like yesterday as we only caught 48. Not sure why they had slowed down. Because of the pounding yesterday, a tad less flow, cooler air temp, the cumulative effect of all? We kept fifteen of the biggest ones. One female dropped eggs in the live well and was spewing them as I pulled her out for cleaning. Caught some of those stinking green bass too. Chartreuse over orange and pink over white Clousers and epoxy minnows. Started fishing about 7:45 and quit a noon. Small crappie the Mrs. is hauling in, What did I learn today? Besides how busy the river can be when fish are biting how some people present them selves in the outdoors. For crying out loud this place is along walk if you want to get there and bank fish. If you can carry it in carry it out. Pure laziness, go figure? Other things. Yesterday Curt and I and today the Mrs. and I watched a guy catch fish from a steep bank. What he wanted he threw in the grass and brush behind him. What he did not want he just dropped on the steep bank. Some slid back into the water, some got hung up in the mud and bank brush not making it back to the water. When he was done he got into the fish pile behind him and cherry picked what he had piled. Fish he decided he did not want that had been up there for fifteen or more minutes went over the bank dead towards the water. Guess he did not read the culling thread in general discussion. Pffft, You call that lettuce? . Should of had that out weeks ago! Sure am glad you did not let me plant my tomatoes early like you let me last year. BilletHead

Good question but personally I find the two mushrooms in different places. To me everywhere looks god for morels but not for chanterelles . We find our Chants in more open timber and more sandy soil, BilletHead

First fish caught at 7:45 and we broke the rods down for the ride to the pull out at 2:00 PM. Never a dull moment between those times. Did take a couple breaks for sustenance. There was much laughing at each other also. The Mr.s wants to go tomorrow but she was told she had strep today. Might have to leave her at home in the morning. That may go over like a lead balloon. BilletHead is keeping his distance today but did kiss her yesterday . -

A great day slaying the Whites, Met forum member and friend Curtise and hit the river. Threw clousers and even smashed them on white woolly buggers. Curt and I both were throwing 250 grain sink tip line. Fish were caught in water between a foot to five foot deep. Would guesstimate 80+ percent males. Forty yard section of the river. Some took the fly on the drift, some a slow strip and others a fast strip. Did not matter they wanted it badly, Curt with a fish on, Here is my clicker number. One of those clicks was a lost crappie away from his friends . Curt would not let me see or tell me his number. Curt kept fourteen for friend of his the rest are still swimming, BilletHead sucks, you don't have to say it I will .

RPS do you have your cardiologist on speed dial? Stand by maybe? Found more morels today. Worked up a couple of ribeye steaks on the grill while the Mrs. Did her thing to the morels and made a salad. No I did not clean my plate, too much for one sitting. There will be steak sandwiches this week. BilletHead

Still finding some. 45 today and some are getting big! Mr. Folly please ask Miss Folly not to curse us too loudly :), BilletHead

A friend of mine has fished Canada (Ontario) last two years. If you keep a fish it must be killed immediately. There could be your answer but I want the option of turning loose at the end of my fishing trip if I don't have enough to clean ( happens to me all the time ). BilletHead

Must of been you we seen up the river last Tuesday . Those fish looked just right ! BilletHead

Believe me tho1mas those things were so crusty with many years of my grandmothers cooking it was a triumph when I got them cleaned and re seasoned. Still have three more to do. Slick as glass the reworked ones are. Our Son and grandkids can clean our carbon build up someday if they want . BilletHead

Oh yes I forgot that Wrench it was a official tournament catch and release (to the grease). What really gets me is the guys stringers on steep banks that do not reach the water and the fish are dead and stiff and dried out or the bucket brigade with bleached out dead fish in warm stagnate water. Yes that makes them taste real good . Signs that spring has really sprung, BilletHead

More baking in cast iron, This time for breakfast. Recipe calls for lining a cast iron skillet with tater tot crowns. Not having them at our local mega mart we decided for hash brown paddies in the frozen food isle. So line your skillet with the patties and on the sides too. Bake at 425 for fifteen minutes then smash the open areas of the patties together, Scramble eight eggs just until they begin to set up. Then add a layer of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the cooked hash browns. Then the eggs, spread them around in a nice layer. Add some cooked crumbled sausage, more shredded cheddar, then diced cooked bacon, Into the hot oven still at 425 for another fifteen minutes, out it comes bubbling and super hot, Serve it up . Pretty good and simple to make. Would be a good dish to serve to a big tribe, Guilty pleasure alert! I am a sucker for this type of hash brown patty. Don't go to mickydees very often but when I do I indulge in a potato patty. BilletHead

It happens and have seen and read where some folks have posted they do that. These same people may not actually know the rules. Thank you Walcrabass for passing this info to them. The ounce of prevention here will be better than the cure if caught, BilletHead

JD, You may already know this but look into hospitality house or whatever they call it at your providing hospital. There was an old wing on the hospital the Mrs. used for lodging when Pat had procedures early in the mornings and we went down day before. We did drive two hundred miles round trip each day for her radiation. I realize if that is in your future that is not feasible. Chin up buddy! Marty
