  1. I have a tour 109 Motorguide with two gator mounts. This was my spare until a year ago. One year limited use and it is in very good condition. I will throw in a free gator mount. Selling for $650. Text Brett 4172300343.
  2. Here is my stockton list: 1 green pumpkin centipede 2 green pumpkin speed craw 3 brush hog 4 10" power worm 5 tube - "rootbeer" Table rock list would drop brush hog and add the grub.
  3. Phil Did you stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night???
  4. Literally you can catch them from 2-25 feet. They are staging to on the bank. Pea gravel or hard bottom near by is key. I caught fish on the bluffs to the very back of the coves. I have caught them on green pumpkin jigs, tubes, craws, centipedes, grubs, and wiggle warts. A few spinner bait and jerkbait fish as well. Not catching very many big fish but wading through 150 short fish is fun. Sorry to not be specific but fish are very scattered and not very picky right now.
  5. New water = current = fish heading up creeks = spawn = bites = fish Simple formula unless "trashy water" throws the whole equation off
  6. Thanks for the report! I found them from 5-15' last weekend. Hopefully they just keep coming!!!
  7. A new bridge and new alignment to tie into it would cost in excess of $200 million. MoDOT only has $325 million a YEAR for construction starting in 2016. MoDOT needs over $475 million just to "maintain" what we have today with NO improvements for safety, lanes, etc. Thank you for the good comments and remember we all like good roads, coming home safe, and what they roads do for our economy.

  9. Caught big females in yokum creek on Thursday. Was just random occurrence though. Didn't find them again all weekend. Did catch a few small males in cricket. All fish where caught on a-rig.
  10. Not the old ones but it is a good price. The old ones say wiggle wart under the bill and haven't been available for 10 plus years.
  11. Yes, Send me a personal message with your phone number and I will get back with you.
  12. When is the fish fry? Fished on Friday night. Lots of boat traffic. Had three bites, all were 4lbs with one being 6 lbs. All were on big worm in over 30' on channel swings in flooded timber. Had trouble reviving the big girl, she was basically dead when she entered the boat. No real pattern just a couple of lucky bites after dark.
  13. I have two split grip, St. Croix Spinning Rods for Sale. Both are Bass Mojo models in perfect condition. One is 6-9" medium action (shakey head/wacky) One is 7-0' medium (I call it medium heavy) (tubes/grubs) I would like to sale the pair for $125 or $70 each. I have too many rods and these are simply setting around. They are exactly like new and sell for $115 each with tax as Bass Pro. Also might trade for other rods, reels, or lures. PM with trades and/or phone number so I can give you a call. Thanks, Brett

  15. The rock brought me back down to earth Monday. Paid up for one more night in the campground on Sunday and fished again 5:30 to 9:00ish Monday morning and the fish were less active. Could not get the suspended fish to eat. Did have few fish on FB jig and spoon. Only 4 small keepers and one 7 lb channel cat. Didn't see the surfacing fish and chasers like the last few days. Maybe the windy morning had them jacked up. Had a great weekend and weather. All the points and the boat ramp were full of the PAA guys. Such a big pond, why fish so close.
  16. I just wanted to say thanks to Bill for the Jig Bite Info. It has helped and hopefully this info can help a little. Pulled the camper and the boat from Ozark to Branson for the weekend. Took my guide out for our second annual fathers day trip. As you can see, she is excellent with the net. It just doesn't get any better than having your family with you Put in at 5:15 both days at State Park. Absolutely the best two mornings I have had on the Rock. On Saturday killed the smallies on the jig, DD22, and War Eagle Spoon. Had two smallmouth that were weighed over 4 and one 5 - 9 oz toad. My best smallie on the rock to-date, 23 inches long 6.5" top to bottom on the FB jig at 5:30. Anyway, had to be very, very, very close to deep water while setting the boat in 12-30' nearby. Channel swings or straight channel does not matter. Started with smallies on the football jig then kept seeing suspended fish on the graph 10-15' over 25' to 30'. Started bombing the DD-22 with a stop and go retrieve and for about an hour it was just plain stupid with a 50/50 ratio of smallies and K's. The smallies calmed down about 8:00 AM and then the K's moved over the channelbreak and suspended with the shad. Starting throwing the spoon under the graph and continued to cath fish until about 10:00 both days. After 10, they just shut off. On Saturday ended up with an unknown number of keepers, 15 white bass, and 7 smallmouth greater than 18" long. On sunday caught less keepers but simply hammered the 14" K's on the spoons and caught two 24" walley in sight of the dam on the FB jig (go figure) Also, on Sunday my dad showed up and fished. What a great weekend ! All the bass were returned unharmed, the walley and whites were not so lucky. This report won't win any money, however it can attribute to a good time. This makes you forget all the bad days.
  17. I run a 225 optimax. I have to constantly monitor my voltage to keep from being dead on the water. The starting battery is seperate from the trolling batteries. The trolling batteries are only hooked to the trolling motor. If I run my graphs (5" lowrance 520c) and my livewell pumps the starting battery draws down pretty fast. The battery checks out OK and is the Oreilly dual purpose with 1000 amps. This is the best dual purpose battery they have. It could be a bad one as no real way to check the reserve. I have been looking at a "better" battery. Does anybody else have similiar problems ? Any suggestions with better solutions ? Thanks in advance.
  18. Bill, It seems this would take longer to me. However, they have a lot of staff (federal jobs Ha!) and good computers. Looks like tonight it is down approx. 1.2 ft per 24 hrs. The amount out of beaver will be down to 9000 from 80,000 and the creeks dropping make the difference. The "bathtub" effect of the creeks with high lake levels in the lake sometimes make the creeks appear higher while in fact, the flows have dropped drasiticallly.
  19. Engineers love stupid analogies - "100 year" flood and "100 year rainfall" actually will have probability of occuring something like every 16 years ? I will ask the corps what this is considered. I will say it is close to a "200 year flood" Just guessing though. And actually the 745 was at Branson - It was actually almost 30 feet higher than now! Can you imagine it? Your dock is still hanging in there? Save the greatest swimmming minnow collection in America! Hang in there Phil.
  20. The Corps has been doing two conference calls daily to deep local officials and public safety personel informed: This is what I heard today: The flows coming INTO Tablerock from Monday through Wednesday were near 250,000 cfs and peaked over 292,00 cfs. In 2008 we only saw one 6 hour period over 200,000 cfs. 200,000 cfs is equivalent to 1.4 MILLION GALLONS EVERY SECOND ! The Corps will continue to pull water at the current rate until the lake reaches 931.00. With no further rainfall this should be sometime Sunday. Depending on the forecast, Bull Shoals Levels, lower whiter river, and mississipi river levels the Corps will pull the flow down to 20,000 cfs until the lake reaches 920. One reason the lake stayed so high for so long in 2008 was rainfall amounts in June and the Levels of Bull Shoals and Norfork Lakes. The Corps have a lot of variables to look at, too many to talk about here. The Corps does care about people's safety and the damage the releases can do to property. Once an area is flooded due to the release, the Corps will try to continue until they feel they have a "buffer" in case of later event. This helps prevent possible greater flows in the immediate future that could effect more people. Remember - Lots of variables effect releases and literly, plans can change with the weather. The effects of the rainfall with the darn has effected very few people's property in comparison to what in could. Yes, it has cause several other problems. The floods of 1916, 1927, 1943, 1945, etc the showed what similiar rainfall can do - The white river (Lake Taneycomo) was at 714 +/- at Branson in this event, in 1943 the Lake was at approximately 745 ! In 1945 in actually overtopped the East approach to the Arch Bridge in Branson. These floods completely destroyed towns and agriculture fields for 500 miles. I feel for the people effected on Taneycomo, but living close to the Lake has its risk. We all should count our blessings of the safety and recreational value the damns provide us all !
  21. I have been one of individuals that have been monitoring the safety of our roadways and bridges during the flooding. At no time have any of the structures been unsafe or closed. Also, the darn is perfectly safe, the "slide" are very minor and could only effect the highway. If a Bridge is closed, the media will get the word out. As someone who has not slept much the last 80 or so hours, I can say mis-information and rumors have added unwarranted work load to several individuals. Rather than looking into real prolems, much of our time has been spent squashing rumors. Please be advised to look to official sources for information. This causes less stress to the public and public employees and would help stop the "panic reaction" There are only two reasons a bridge is closed: Water over the roadway and/or bridge and/or structural damage. Several docks have been loose on Taney, but no major docks have impacted any structures. If a structure is impacted, it is looked at very quickly. All the Bridges over Table Rock on the State Highway system are designed to handle 936.00. The corps also only buys property to this elevation. If water comes over this elevation, the Corps can be held liable. This is somewhat the reason the elevation of 936 is important to the Corps. As of 3:00 the Corps believes they have "caught the crest" at 935.47. Sorry to rant - Just ready to sleep and dream of the Spinner Bait.
  22. Based on the current levels and flows, especially with increase in projected flows from ALL the major creeks, we might see 715 on Taney and 93? on the Rock, who knows ! These guys also built a multi million dollar "just in case spillway" So they might never know until after the fact. Honestly, they have a tough job with endless variables, The corps will try to do what they can with what they have.
  23. The darn is only going to release about 30,000 for now. That is only about 1/3 more than full generation. It is not expected to peak (based on data at 5:00 on 4-25-11) until Friday at about 927.5. They may drastically increase flow in Taneycomo once the rain stops and the feeder creeks withdrawn on Taney. The Corps are trying to not flood Taney if at all possible. The debris in the lake is unreal, BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!
  24. Phil, This is a little "safe, rather than sorry issue" The "slide" is somewhat disturbing. However, after a very short time in looking closely at the situation I believe it is simply one of the small "seal" layers on the outside of the earth portion of the darn. It could cause some problems, especially with the roadway. A 6" dip in the roadway is major to traffic, however no a big deal to the darn. It is far from a failure that can cause "major" problems. However, I did just look at it for a few minutes. Keep in mind, the same experts that built a "just in case," multi million dollar spillway are in charge of the situation.
  25. Sam, I do not work for any water quality agency, but I do have extensive training in the field. The "foam" you are seeing in the water has nothing to do with soap or pollutants. It is a natural occuring phenomenon that occurs when water and air mix in turbulent action. The foam is helped to suspend by the disolved sediment that is found in murky water of Lake Springfield. The action of the water over the dam, warm water from the power plant, and high levels of sediment in the lake water create the perfect storm to creat "soap suds" These plumes have more to do with turbulent water and are no specific indicator of pollution. Some organizations claim sediment is pollution, but it is commonly found in high levels in many very "fishable" bodies of water. Just as a note, I care about this lake and hate "rock snot". There are several factors that led to the "slime" we all dealt with last spring. It was a result of the previous years rainfall and atmospheric conditions of last winter. A one time instance of these conditions is not highly uncommon and is common in resivours accross north america with little or no pollution. The dissolved oxygen levels on the Rock last year were high and ultimately the "rock snot" probably helped the quality of baitfish in the fishery. The slime we dealt with does need nutrients to thrive but is also has to have sunlight. A lake has to have nutrients that allow baitfish to feed and as a result have a better quality fishery. When you have clear water it allows more sunlight to penetrate and it is a more delicate balance between nutrients and sunlight. As a rule more sediment and nutrients creates a good fishery. However, when you have the perfect atomospheric conidtions and clear water it can be dangerous to oxygen levels in the lake (fish kill). The pollution levels in the James river have been dramtically reduced compared to even 5 years ago. Also, the levels of phosphorus from treatment plants is next to nothing. The citys and counties that feed the james river have spent millions to correct their treatment facilities. It is impossible to have 100% ability to control the water quality in a watershed. The non-point sources (fields, uncontrolled runoff, etc) will continue to be reduced and the water quality will contiunue to improve. Even with additional controls mother nature can still suprise us. If we all work together to keep people informed of the effects of uncontrolled chemicals, we will get our best results. However, I do not feel radical decisions and regulations are the best answer.
