  2. Sorry no books of the top of my head but if I was in your situation I would start here. http://mdc.mo.gov/fish/how.htm Will provided many good links to basic information. And start the learning process and familiarity with the process and tools involved.
  3. Are parking attendants / meter maids required to do all the training as regular law enforcement? Maybe the township could acquire some worker of a similar fashion?
  4. Good for you guys I have given up having a Brittany for the first time in a very long time. After my last one passed. Decided that having to train on pin raised and then maybe not finding birds often enough on Mo public land was it. Sure miss the dogs tho. Good soft hackle material. ya know.
  5. Fishing for trout in Missouri by Chuck Tryon and the Manifesto are both great books for beginners

  9. A two piece rod is not travel friendly compared to the four pieces. At four and a half feet might not fit in a cars trunk for instance.
  10. Oncorhynchus is a genus of fish in the family Salmonidae; it contains the Pacific salmons and Pacific trouts. The name of the genus is derived from the Greek onkos ("hook") and rynchos ("nose"), in reference to the "kype" - the hooked jaw of males in mating season From Wiki I new kype meant hooked jaw. But not why it did is I looked it up.
  11. Sorry not to side track this thread but I also met OAF member HookinEar today as well. He seemed to be having luck dangling cracklebacks to the same pod of fish I was having limited success swinging softhackles at. From opposite sides of the stream....lol Nice meeting you also. Hope your bored fishing partner understands what one more cast really means .
  12. This is a fine example of a father and son team here guys. I briefly witnessed them in action. They also maybe the reason for bank erosion as much as they move around spotting and stalking those hogs. Bman's secret weapon is more than a fly. It's a well choreographed one two with his son / teammate. Its was nice too meet you fellas also.
  13. Well said friend. I resemble part of that....lol Well Cricket if you wanted to pay something back. You could show up. I mean honor us with your presence. At yet another "undisclosed location" say new years eve or day or both as the hardcore do. And freeze your butt off with a bunch of us. Just saying.....
  14. Ya need a report. Water conditions? Methods used? Hope all had great luck. And there are a few bites left for tomarrow.
  15. I went in looking for a clearance flashlight. And decided to take a look at the players. Seems that my pickup's flip down deck and CD's are gonna be a pain. So I am finally looking to get into the 90's tec. lol But decided to cheap out when I saw these lil buggers. I figure its been worth a recommendation. Save some cash or use em to stuff stockings. Simple as can be but cheap. In stores only <~~~click
  16. I'm fishing some where this weekend not sure where tho.

  19. With this much time I guess I should do something new. How about a hopper? Pattern to be determined.
  20. As long as there is laws. Their will be those that disregard them. drew03cmc may I suggest. http://www.mdc.mo.gov/hunt/gamethief/index.htm If you witness or suspect a wildlife violation, report it to your local conservation agent or call the toll-free number —1-800-392-1111— Have it in my cell. I use it. If I feel the need.

  25. Well it seems like when I start a project it gets blown out of proportion. I have added cracklebacks and maybe a streamer to be determined later I alsodecided to tie several dozen of all patterns and split em with my brother and father for the up coming holidays as presents. That will hopefully inspire a few trips for the both of them.
