Theft At Cooper Creek Boat Ramp Parking Lot
johnboy2bfishin replied to Bill Babler's topic in Table Rock Lake
I feel for you Bill, i didn't have hubs stolen but have had parts taken off motor before along with prop. Finally caught the jack nut and he won't be stealing anything soon. Just hard as heck to replace some of it. On your hubs with them being virtually maintenance free almost be worth making the castle nut on the spindle. That would slow them down and force them to move along. Bad side is when you would have to service them then it would require some grinding and steady hand.but i have seen it done on other types of hubs. Just need to put hub on like manufacture require then once you have the castle nut in place and locked in with cotter pin, this is what to do take flat washers and shim until flush with end of axle and tack last washer twice to axle. To remove it would require some work and possibly have to chase the threads but it has been effective . Just an idea. -
Nice table rock largemouth. Nice job congrats

Table Rock She Gives Some And Takes Alot!
johnboy2bfishin replied to johnboy2bfishin's topic in Table Rock Lake
I would think weather played a part in the fish being slow for us Sat. And i would also think that My lack of experience on table rock contributed to it also. I have only been here for goin on 6yrs and still learnin. She is like a race track with there constant changing with weather. I just fell behind and didn't make the right adjustments for weather and fishing conditions. Could have been a rest day for the fish. -
Had some friends over from West Plains for there annual tourney they have. Miss Rock started just great with alot of topwater action. Several nice fish with a 5-14 coming Friday evening. Then Miss Rock showed who was boss. Sat was tough. Topwater was all short fish and once it died the grub bite was non existent even the Ned and drag bite was not there. Finally moved to a ledgey bluff and worked a grub down the ledges and finally picked up 3 small keepers. Overall a nice time with the guys but hoping Miss Rock would smile on us. Wasn't to be Most fish came on topwater early and late with just a few once the sun got up. The nite bite well lets say non existant to much moss and slime

She done the same to me had a friends come over from west plains and we fished for a 2 days pretty tuff

Nice smallie! The Ned rig is going to be a table rock staple along with the grub and fish dr .

Thanks everyone I would say it was a group effort with everyone on here that posts. It has allowed me to learn this lady alot faster than by myself. So kudos to all. Oh and techo if you read this there is still some fish in aunts creek for you once you get healed up

I was scrubbin the grub and once i found that they were on ledge rock i had to slow my retrieve down in order for the grub fall to the next ledge i had to goto my 5.1 reel to help me keep it slow enough i think speed of grub had everyone to getting bit. The salt n pepper was the best under cloudy skies yesterday and the smoke was better when the sun was out for a bit

Got started at 10, fished the brown stained water in the aunts creek arm with no luck fished kinda shallow thinking that I might pick one up in the stained water. Nothing. Moved down toward the mouth of James and white and got into some clearer water. Stopped on a point close to a spawning pocket and the fun began. Was fishing with a smoke/red grub and a salt n pepper grub. Ended up putting away the rest of my rods once the party started. Wow ms table rock was kind to me today. Just one of those days that make all the work and time you putter in worth while I will get picks posted as soon as i figure this out i caught some dandies . All the fish i ended ipod catching were related to points with deep water but was also close to pockets and were more ledge rock than pea gravel chunk rock my better fish came out of about 20' ended up with 11keepers and about 30 total l. Lost track once i caught a couple of the big ones.

Sounds like Friday and Saturday were hot for everyone while i was stuck at work. Great report sounds like you guys had them figured out
-
Thanks for your reports and safe journey to home and back to the ROCK

I would fish around mill creek ramp or maybe aunts creek ramp those areas have a variety of banks as pea gravel to steep stuff and i would walk up and down bank and throw a fluke or drag a tube or fish dr.

Yea this time last year we were full on spawn with these cold fronts every week keeping water temps below 60 not sure if they will move up to spawn swallow. They may stay out to spawn, with the ones i caught they are just plain fat even the small ones. It has been some if the healthiest fish i have seen in a long time.

Fished 7-2 started in jakes creek was amazed at how clear it was could see 20ft. Started halfway back of jakes and worked several points and pockets with a couple of shorts. I tried throwing the fluke and grub as stated in previous post but was not successful. About 9 made a move to little indian worked he same lures and types of banks. Ended up catching a catfish and some whites. Decided at 1030 to move toward cow creek went to the back and started fishing out toward main lake concentrating on points. Drug the Dr the whole time the water was clear. Most fish were prespawners full of eggs and fat as could be. Didn't catch any toads but caught some nice keepers in the 15-17" range. The better fish were located on gravel points with isolated timber seemed to the best. Can't wait til Thursday to get back on water.

Wednesday Night Tournament Across From Ahoys
johnboy2bfishin replied to mohogtrapper's topic in Table Rock Lake
where are people allowed to launch besides mill creek -
I appreciate the advice Bill. I have kept up with Pete's site and he is very informative as well. Now that you have explained how you rig your fluke on spinning gear its like class is in session. Trust me I will incorporate thus bit if info into how i fish. Info like this is invaluable. Thank Bill again
-
Hey Bill thanks again if i may when you say drag a weedless fluke are you c rigging it or is there a specific way you rig it and if you don't want to say i understand trade secrets just trying to get hold of this lady i dont derby fish anymore just can't afford too anymore til economy gets better. I can do pretty good in the fall and winter and summer time at nigh but she is absolutely brutal to me in the spring and from reading your last couple post i am sure i am not deep enough most times. Anyway just curious to your set up on that fluke if you can Thanks again for all you do

When i lived over by norfork lake several years ago my cousin was deputy for Baxter co ar. And apparently a boater and dock owner had some words the dock owner pulled a gun on the fisherman and shot across the bow so to speak. The boater called sheriff and dock owner was arrested. Cousin said two days later the dock had mysteriously caught on fire. As for fishing docks i have gotten different stories from corps and the sheriff won't mess with it unless there is theft or damage

I would have.like to have fished down between KC.and dam but figured wind would have been to.much for step sons first time didn't want to scare him off the lake completely. I.think he is hooked even just catching his big fish of only 15"k it was fun to watch him fight her. She was fat and worked him over. I am ready for the drag bite it seems i can catch them more consistantly
-
Thanks for all the advice and reports Bill, it helps a guy like me who doesnt get to the water nearly enough, but what you post allows me to eliminate a lot of water and get after it. Dropped the ranger at baxter this morning(figured it would be a little easier to get out of the wind- not the case). morning started slow fished fluke, blade and c-rig dr. worked on several transition and stagiong locals. was tuff no bites, moved to some secondary points in the afternoon wind started draggin the fish dr with the boat setting in 30ft then the bites started nothing to brag about, but did have a great day of just catching fish

Hey techo sorry about your surgery coming up. I fished aunts Sunday and don't worry those fish are still there fished em hard and 3 shorts to show hope you get better soon
