  1. Come next time you have some more dumpster hackle i'll be happy to put it to good use. Pumpkins look really good though. i dont think I have seen them dressed like that before. usually its just a couple feathers stuck in there, these are nice and full, adds more character
  2. I have had mine out on a trip. Could a couple trout with it, handled them just fine and dandy. With backing and some Rio Grande on it it the rod is plenty balanced. The drag tightened down all the way darn near stops the drag. i am very happy with it overall.
  3. Hargrove. hands down. i dislike the guys at feathercraft. Seem to think that since im some kid who isnt going to spend 1000 bucks when im there they are less then helpful.
  4. Tom is great! i know him from a while back when he used to work at hargrove. Now he manages the fishery there. The place is still for sale too, only like 5 mil or something like that
  5. Atleast you caught some nice looking fish to make up for that,. Still a bummer that happened.
  6. ugh why is this during a week day?!?! I want to go see it so bad.
  7. It was cold!!! BOOOO!! I hate cold. Anyway, weather aside from this, it was a so-so day at the park. maybe its because I never go there during the season, but its 5 bucks just to get past the gate, which IMO is kinda stupid. it misted heavily while we were getting ready at the truck but shortly stopped. Fished the whole stream twice. Doesnt look like they have/had stocked it in a while. There were very very low numbers of fish in the stream. I was catching them in scatter places most of the day, fishing partner not so much luck. Overall, it was nice to go out and remove my trout skunk, plus test out the new rod/reel/line I got. Think I will stick to Montauk and the wild creeks for now.
  8. You've never used Tyrtle wax on a windshield? Try it. it'll buff out plenty clear and will act just the same as Rain-X.
  9. Rain-X is just a liquid wax. you can use a everyday car wax to achieve the same results.
  10. Yes, the Greenback Cutthroat trout. i caufght a couple of them in CO when I was there last year. they are only in a couple lakes/rivers in the Rocky Mountain National Park area. i also completed a grand slaw while there, however my brook trout was a very very poor excuse for a brook trout but it counts non the less. ha!
  11. gorgious fish!
  12. its has to blunt pin point impact. it can withstand a knock or a rub, put if its gets a small enough dink it can shatter. Its one of the goffy things about it
  13. I will say this, the drag on it all the way tightened down will stop the spool. Plus it has a very nice lip to palm
  14. its not plastic, its molded carbon fiber. They are SUPER light reels, the drag on them is AWESOME!! I have a 3850 CF from TU and its a great reel. I also have a 1680 and it is just as good as the higher end reel. I have absolutly zero complaints about them, plus the burnt orange finish is kickass
  15. a version of a green weenie. Gotta get some beads and more ultra chenile today and make some more. Then probably some bass flies, or gar rope flies.
  16. Floating? Sink? weight forward? etc etc
  17. Shoulda brought the rattler back and tanned the skin. Its really easy to do and would look pretty cool.
  18. That sounds rediculously fun.
  19. Geoff

    Awsome

Looks like a good trip. i havent even gotten to any of the trout parks this year at all.
  20. I have 3 St Croix rods, and I love every one of them. I have 3, 5, and 8 weights, everywhere from 7' to 9'. i really want the Avid 3wt thats a 4 peice 7' footer. thats a neat rod.
  21. Those Sage rods are sweet though. They sure cast very well. Price isnt half bad either. I use a 5wt for pretty much anything warmwater, except carp, i have an 8 for that. However if I am throwing REALLY big flies, i will bring out the 8, just because of the ease of casting
  22. darn it! you went out again!! Did you get the PM i sent to you? Where is this creek, i need to go out this weekend and fish, its killing me man.
  23. Definitly lots of google-eye in there, dont think its 100% though. Might have some green sunfish mixed in. However it COULD be a warmouth. Been a while since i've seen one though, dont reemember them being that green though
  24. if you want to go sunday, gimme a call. I'm sending you a PM
  25. Where at down 55? I need to get out and fish in the worst way possible.
