  1. What kind of whack 0&& would think this would be legal? Maybe the state needs to take all equipment used in spearfishing in streams ..........including the car or truck used to get to the stream...........I know some might find this excessive but I think the penalty we have now is a joke...........
  2. Shame on you chief, don't you know that all you got to do is use one of these and you will win millions of dollars fishing tournaments.............Well of course that's true I read it on the internet and you can't put anything that's not true on the internet................That's what I was told.....I think.............
  3. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
  4. I have found that no matter how big of a storage box I have .............I need one just a little bigger. I do agree with Al I prefer the 3701 boxes for storing hard baits.
  5. My Dad and his fishin' buddies who let me tag along a lot more than I would have. But the biggest influence was Gadabout Gaddis "The Flying Fisherman". He had learned to fly in the Army Air Core at the very end of WW1 and had a TV show where he flew his own plane around the eastern half of the USA on his syndicated TV show and I can still see the one were he flew to Minnesota landed on water took out his Fly Rod and started catching Smallmouth Bass and I was hooked...........About 15 years later I walked into Hog Creek just south of Houston, Mo and just down the hill from my brothers home cast a 1/16 oz. black Bass Buster crappie jig and on the very first cast I hooked a legal Smallmouth Bass I was hooked again and never got away. I have enjoyed fishing throughout the Midwest from Arkansas to NW Ontario and standing in an Ozark stream is still my favorite fishing.
  6. Be carefull in Kansas City...................that's a fast town.........stay away from front street
  7. only when we get a front that causes a big temp. drop, bluebird sky and high winds. If the bugs are still active fish will still eat them. If the only result is rain and cloudy skies when I am on the lake I look for overhanging trees or brush and throw a small jig under the trees if any bugs are getting blown off and hitting the water. Some of my best catches have been at those times. If the trees get blown into the water that is even better.
  8. I'm sorry I meant C&R only during the summer for Muskie not close the lake. Last year when it was a lot hotter than this year I fished Fellows at least every week during the summer and didn't see any dead Muskie.........My biggest concern were the Muskies that grabbed Bluegill I had on 4lb line and of swallowed the bluegill and jig and broke the line.............
  9. If it's legal, I can't get all that upset........but saying that why can't the MDC make Muskie fishing on Fellows catch and release only? It cost a lot of money and years to grow a trophy size Muskie.........I would think that C&R on that small of a lake would be a no brainer and have a closed season during the summer.
  10. Ya, some times you need an escape plan when you are on the water. It is amazing how fast small rivers and creeks can get up into the trees and how fast they can drop back..
  11. Academy has this battery on sale this week. Any body have any opinion about it?
  12. If the coal ash is no problem lets dump it in the yards of the people producing it and the politicians who think its alright. That would solve the storage problem.
  13. That makes 4 of us
  14. Thanks for the caution ...........so few of us understand what makes fishing the wonderful thing that it is. Looks like you do!
  15. Back when we bought vinyl I had a double disk "Once More From The Road" the Breeze followed "T For Texas" on one side..........maybe the best side ox any LP album I ever found Put that on a cassette along with some "Little Feet", "Muddy" and the "Wolf" and you had no problem gettin' down the road.
  16. RIP JJ Cale. He wrote among other stay awake, gettin' down the road songs and what I think should be the drivers national anthem ......"They Call Me The Breeze"
  17. Sorry old plug I'm 71 and I don't see what john did wrong ......... you think someone can mouth off and the other guy is just supposed to stand there................
  18. Check Craigslist But I would only look at the boats that are on the water and test drive them.
  19. I hear you JoeD but I don't think any one else does........... or cares
  20. F& F Never thought about the effect of the cold water on the shad. I was told it was the shad pulled into the lake by generation. that were killed or stunned that brought the Stripers and the Walleye up to Carpenter Dam on Lake Catherine Now when I targeted Stripers I never caught one over the 7 or 8 lb range but when I fished for Rainbows on Catherine I would use a 1/8oz gold Acme Castmaster spoon on 4lb mono and would hook much bigger Stripers or Walleye and every once in a while I would get a look at them before they broke my line. They never seemed to hurt the trout population and while I was living there a 16lb plus Wally and a 50 lb striper were taken from as close to the dam as you were allowed have your boat and both caught on crank baits by guys fishing for Large mouth with crank baits. I still believe Catherine was one of the best Lakes I've ever fished. in the Mid west or Mid South.
  21. If we want to stop a lot of these problems we could ban alcohol in all boats unless they have a kitchen, head ,sleeping areas. like they do in NW Ontario. It hasn't seemed to hurt the tourist, fishing business up there.
  22. I thought that was a practice refined to golf........... On the green in 5, 3 putts I had a 4............
  23. Another vote for Rainbow pattern Redfin largest size and Pencil Popper.
