  1. Yep, definitely.
  2. Awesome video! How cool.
  3. Fall is my favorite season for fishing, but summer is my favorite for catching...I have more success in the summers. But yeah, finally the heat and humidity is ending, everything gets pretty, and the days are cloudy and cool. Can't beat fall. I'm starting to enjoy the cold months more now, too, since I've picked up the long rod.
  4. LM fo sho. Nice fish.
  5. Yep, me too. Gavin was right, but the correct spelling is "cichlid."
  6. Geez, I've never heard of half of those and would probably misidentify them if I caught one. Pretty cool project, though.
  7. Wow. Absolutely gorgeous video. Thanks for sharing.
  8. I didn't find it mean-spirited, I just thought you were being honest. Sometimes the truth hurts, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be told. The stream over-population problem will only get worse with each passing year, and there's nothing that can be done about it, so I won't bother whining about this one. I think floaters should have to pass an IQ test before they're rented a canoe.
  9. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are being fought with money borrowed from China, the sum total of which is WAY more than the stimulus package, but I didn't see any Tea Parties protesting over that fact. Hypocrisy. And as for military contracts, Halliburton and Blackwater got most of them because of you-know-who and you-know-who, and the CEOs of those companies just stockpile their millions in off-shore accounts or buy up real estate. That's not good for the economy either. You must be thinking of WWII when we still had factories in our country, and every American had a job making some product that contributed to the war effort. Those days are long gone, unfortunately.
  10. You're right! My eyes are open! Why go with diplomacy when we can further bankrupt ourselves and continue to ask our soldiers to lose their lives fighting one preemptive and indefinable war after another? Thanks for another pearl of wisdom, gotmuddy. Can't someone just end this thread? I keep telling myself I'm done with these topics, but the level of lunacy is too great to resist commenting on. I know I'm chasing my tail arguing with a person who puts more value on opinions than facts, but I can't seem to help it. I guess I'm just gonna have to bite my tongue when you lay out your next brilliant rebuttal, because I'm out.
  11. Probably? She's made multi-millions since she threw in the towel on public service. The best part of a Palin presidency would be watching her quit halfway through. That is if there are any survivors remaining after the global nuclear war she'll start.
  12. Great post, Al...the only one worth reading out of this entire joke of a thread...and that includes mine, too. Wish I was patient and diplomatic enough to put things the way you do. But alas, I am not.
  13. Just give it up, OB. You can't convince someone who denies reality. I give you an A for effort though.
  14. Awesome. Totally awesome. Can't wait to see more when you get back. Enjoy the rest of your trip...I have a feeling you will.
  15. Watching and waiting for something worth talking about with people worth talking to.
  16. You wouldn't recognize the proof if it was branded on your forehead. You're a lost cause. I'm done.
  17. What other "proof" do you need other than the fact that their habitat is melting, getting smaller, and breaking into little chunks and floating off to sea? The degradation of that habitat is a result of global warming, at least according to the VAST majority of scientists. As far as I can see, they don't get **any** money from the government...let me know when you find some info that proves otherwise, not that it makes a difference to me anyway. And Ted Turner and the Sierra Club can give their money to whomever they please. How is that relevant to anything? The validity of an organization is based on who contributes to it? If that's your criteria, I've got some great investor/contributor to organization match-ups for you I'll send in a PM (wouldn't want to upset anyone).
  18. I'm sorry to keep picking on you gotmuddy, but you keep posting inaccurate comments. The Center for Biological Diversity is NOT funded by the government, but rather by 255,000 members who donate to their causes. You should do some research before you make assumptions. You should also check out their website...you might actually enjoy it. A couple stories right on their homepage are about things you might support...protecting Montana grayling, and another one about what they're doing to protect a steelhead fishery on the 8,000 acre Stanford University campus. http://www.biologica....org/index.html
  19. Alligator gar are found in both AR and MO. They are native to the lower Mississippi River Valley.
  20. That's a helluva cool photo for a phone pic.
  21. I'd post a list of low IQ quotes from one of your favorite people who had far more influence in this country than Sean Penn, but I'm afraid ness would yell at me.
  22. Why do you seem to have a personal vendetta with me ness? You always single me out. This topic is implicitly political, and there's no way to hammer out a debate about it without mentioning political factors. So since you've elected yourself moderater while Phil is gone, maybe you should scold whoever posted this topic in the first place. Sorry if you think my responses are "backhanded," but that's how I talk. I say what I think, and I'm not going to stop before I click "Add Reply" to wonder what ness will think of it, because frankly, I don't care. I don't want to get Phil angry, but again, and like you even admitted, I didn't start it, so get off my back. My tone in this thread pales in comparison to the overt nastiness and closed-mindedness we've seen from a few others, and you don't seem to be bothered by them, so I guess you just don't agree with my opinion or you have a problem with me personally.
  23. Yeah, that sentence pretty much sums me up in a nutshell. I'm flattered that you find me so interesting. As soon as you reveal your love for Chuck Norris, I'll add that statement to my signature, too.
  24. Still a good performance, even if you're homophobic.
