  1. See what I mean? What exactly do you want?
  2. Hope to hear a report on any patterns you might pick up, Gary. I'm trying to squeeze in a little wading on Sunday on one of the Meramec tribs. It's gonna be a little warmer in your neck of the woods this weekend, but I'm thinking they might be waking up a little even up here.
  3. Man GloryDaze, your pics are makin' me wanna get back down there real bad. Gotta be my favorite stream.
  4. You will have plenty of time to kill doing that stretch in 3 days. I've done Buck Hollow to Alley Spring in two, and the last 5 miles is a bit of a grind in spots. So take your time. Fishing should be good to great if the river isn't blown out...it will be April...keep your fingers crossed. Remember Jack's Fork is a Smallmouth Management Area, with a limit of one smallmouth daily greater than 18", but I'm sure you'll release them all anyway.
  5. Well I have no idea where you stand. To be perfectly honest Andy, you make absolutely no sense to me. I think you need to galvanize your position or something. You're for regs? You're against regs? You're for regs but you're against MDC? You're for protection but you're against MSA? You C&R but you don't want C&R? They rarely grow over 15" but a 15" MLL won't help? I'm baffled. What regs would you like to see for your home streams? If you say none, fine, but then you have to stop whining that no one pays attention to your part of the state. If you say you would like SOME kind of tighter regs, then a statewide 15/3 would be a good start, no? Sounds like you want your cake and you wanna bitch about it, too.
  6. That's the best news I've heard in a long time. Nice pics.
  7. Again with the pink? You do a belly flop off the bridge in a pink thong and I'll send you a thousand bucks and a new ultralight.
  8. Why do I have the feeling that's actually happened to you?
  9. I really believe that they do, Chief. They certainly know far more than I do, but I can say that the few streams I fish regularly are all part of new proposals or already under tighter regs, and I guarantee you they need them. I won't pretend to know anything about your streams down there or the Neoshos, but I can't help but feel optimistic about new regulations here on my home waters. I hear where you're coming from, and that's why I think people like you who know your home waters so well should join the new chapter down there and be an active voice for their protection.
  10. He has around 30... He has about 30... He has approximately 30... He owns around 30... hope that helps
  11. LMAO!!! Yeah, you know what they say...close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades and species identification.
  12. Good tip Norm. I was thinking about wading a small stream this weekend since it's supposed to be nice. I'll be bringing the Warts, Pointers, hair jigs, and just in case...a spinnerbait. I hope they wake up a little with the coming temp kicks.

  14. Thought I'd point out the typo in the last of three posts by Dan for clarification purposes...should be "spotted bass" instead of "SMB." Great job guys! It would be amazing if MDC adopted your recommendations. I've got my fingers crossed!
  15. Make sure you don't rule out solo canoes before you buy a kayak. There's not much you can do in most kayaks that you can't do in some canoes...plus your storage is nearly unlimited and they are generally more comfortable.
  16. Is that a Blue Heeler techo? I just read the other day that the oldest dog ever was a 29 1/2 year old Blue Heeler from Australia. Cool dogs.
  17. I'm also becoming less loyal as I find more and more companies making good rods for better prices. But if money was no object, I would always buy Loomis...and I usually do anyway even though I really can't afford them. I like many of the rods that All-Star, St. Croix and Shimano make.
  18. I'll admit that's excessive.
  19. Depends on who you ask. Some people will tell you they're great. I'd say they're a little better than junk, but they'd probably be fine if you don't plan to use them very much.
  20. I switched to Power Pro last year and I love it, especially for spinnerbaits, cranks, jerks and Sammies. Fishing hair jigs in rocky streams was a little problematic, since they tend to hang up a lot and breaking them off is kind of a pain with braid. Also, I did find that occassionally I'd have the water tension problem tossing 4" flukes with spinning gear, but as others have said, if you put your rod tip below the surface, that usually fixes it. I lost ZERO fish to break-offs last year.
  21. How do you know what's sufficient? Do you balance MDC's books or something? I'd love to see your reaction if they had to close up your favorite parks because they couldn't afford to maintain them any longer. You'd be bitching and moaning just like you are about some trivial little fees to keep the nicest parts of our state clean, accessible and user friendly. And don't give me that "bureaucratic government incompetence" garbage, because prices in the private sector have increased a ridiculous amount lately...while on the other hand, my tax return this year is quite a bit larger than it was the last couple years...hmmm...
  22. Hey Alberto, spend a little more and get a Curado 200. You can get them for about $150 on Ebay and they'll last you a very long time. Best reel for your money in my opinion and many others' as well. Here's a link to the Shimano site: http://fish.shimano....g/Curado_E.html Bass Pro Shop is a great place to pick up some tackle and spend a bunch of time looking around at some neat stuff. But it's not good for much else. Don't get your hopes up too much unless you're wanting to spend a bunch of money, because that's about all there is to do there.
  23. Sounds like we can learn a lot from you. Glad to have ya around! What rivers do you fish most?
