  1. You got that on the surfacing ones. It is purely hit and miss. I don't even try for them. I have fished all kinds of places except the long flat points. A couple come to mind that I'll try on Tuesday am. Thanks That is the same area and time for me on Friday . I fished from Turkey Creek to Hawker. After I try the long flat points I have a date with a couple of brush piles then I guess I'll head for the dam area and look for smallies.
  2. I plan to head down there to State Park on Monday pm and fish 'till Friday am. I guess I'll have to throw the kitchen sink at them and see what they will take if anything. I may devote 1 day to fishing brush piles and see how many jigs I can lose.
  3. It seems that only walleye and an occasional crappie fisherman is posting on this forum. Where did all of the bass fishermen go? I've been going but having a lot of trouble finding quality fish. Yesterday I fished mid day around Turkey Creek and had 10 but not a keeper in the bunch.
  4. The 3/8 are gone again.
  5. I doubt the line is the culprit here. Generally it is the bait or the way you close the bail. Closing the bail by hand is the best way.
  6. From my experience Pom has 2 to 3 x as many drum as Stockton. I think the way to cook them is the old method of baking them on a pine board. At least that is the way I'd be doing it.
  7. 3/8 back on the market. I'll sell entire lots for $0.75 each.
  8. I've had 2 different tandem axel trailers with my last 2 boats. I have not been able to move either one of them except to pull them forward which isn't too hard since the garage is sloped toward the front. Luckily I got to design the garage when we built this house. The floor slopes from all corners to a 9' floor drain located in he middle so I can wash boats and vehicles in the garage and the boat bay is 15X30 which gives me lots of room with a swing tongue to walk around front or back.
  9. Don't know about the "eyes" but it picked the bass fishing up for me.
  10. 3/8 sold pending payment.
  11. The 1/2 oz have been sold. Other sizes still available.
  12. Sometimes I get a bit carried away when making baits. I have accumulated way more PT jigs than I will ever use. I'll take $1 each for them or consider an offer for the lot. Shipping would have to be extra but they can be picked up in the Republic area. The first pic is the 3/8 oz. The second pic is 3/4 and 1 oz. The third pic is 1/4 oz
  13. I don't remember where I saw it but there was an article which stated that in North America only the Atlantic Ocean and Lake Erie were more dangerous than LOZ.
  14. Unless you take it on as a hobby like I have then you are absolutely correct it is cheaper to buy and a whole lot less hassle. When I started making I was doing it for 4 people. Now 20 molds later I am the only one who still fishes. But you reach a point where break even is quick after many years. For example, I got a new mold in last week. I paid $36 for it and have already made $300 worth of jigs for my neighbor and myself.
  15. (Urich in Branson West may be able to fix it quickly as well)... Does Kelly have a trolling motor tech? Fred was the tmotor guy..
  16. The nearest that I know of is Marine Repair on N. National in Springfield. Their phone # is 833-9191.
  17. I'm sure you are right on that part. I have to put an insert in my swing jig molds but it covers the eyelet hole and the hook attachment with one wire.
  18. Thanks for the link. I just couldn't imagine what kind of setup that they had to make the loop on the bottom.
  19. It is the mold that I'd like to see. I don't need any jigs like that at the present time.
  20. Where is the boat located?
  21. With a little effort and some RVT silicone you could make your own mold.
  22. That is an interesting looking jig you use. I have never seen one with a second eye for tying a stinger. I'd love to see a mold that makes those.
  23. Welcome to the forum.
  24. Have you tried putting a hose to the drain and back flushing it with water. That always worked on my Champion.
  25. Already done pard.
