    A Rig

A friend of mine fished a tournament there a couple of weeks ago. He said the Arig took the first 5 places.
  2. That far down I imagine you will find very clear water in the low 40s. We had a few on grubs with the best one 4-5# fishing the upper part. They were on grubs in about 20-25 fow. Never got to the A rig or jerk baits.
  3. The A rig ruled supreme at pomme a couple of weeks ago. A bud of a bud caught a 9# on a jerk but the tournament went to the A rig with 26+ and first 5 18 or more so I was told.
  4. I tried the slip bobber but the way I work my jig the line just slides up the bobber and I wind up with only about a foot of leader. I fix my bobber with a bead bobber stop so I can slide it up and down the line to control the depth.
  5. I use 10# mono. I use a tear shaped float. I use craft hair jigs that I make myself.
  6. 1/16 is all I use for this application. Just what are you looking for?
  7. I have had success in the past with gasoline motors that had gummed up. I used seafoam in new gasoline. Sometimes they were hard to start and would only run for a few seconds at a time but over several starts they ran like new. However, none of them were water cooled outboards.
  8. So do you guys have permits to do this?
  9. Go after midnight and throw jerk baits.
  10. Thanks for the info. I have clipped gravel a few times on that shoal in the past. I may just put in at Beaver Creek and fish around there. I don't really have a species in mind yet.
  11. It has been a while since I have been down that way. I'd like to go on Friday. Is any of that area iced over? If so where and how thick? Would it be better to launch at River Run or Beaver Creek?
  12. What you see on DI is more likely to be under the boat than 2d sonar. All 2d sonar actually gives you is how far from the transducer an object happens to be, not the direction. It might look like it is on the bottom but could be anywhere within the cone.
  13. Here is something in your range that I just saw. http://www.bbcboards.net/electronics/326779-brand-new-lowrance-5-hd-elite-dsi.html
  14. As far as I know you can't buy just side imaging. You can buy down imaging. Side imaging is good for scouting and finding various bottom structures and cover. It is not easy to use unless you have the big tv screen. Down imaging is what I run most of the time. I like it better than 2d sonar because it is easier for me to interpret. If you are not in a hurry, go to bassboatcentral and look at the Lowrance and Humminbird screen shots. In some of them you can actually see the fish among tree limbs that you can actually count. I'd go over to Council Bluffs and have a look at Bass Pro if it were me.
  15. Don't know. I saw 2 at one of my farms yesterday. The took turns eating an armadillo.
  16. If you want to see a mess with point markers, take a ride around Table Rock. At the confluence of the White and James they go bonkers. If you want to see how it should be done go to Pomme de Terre. They actually seem to be mile markers from the dam up both arms.
  17. Bassboat Central has a couple of HB forums.
  18. If it is like the one in Springfield lately, it's a camper and 4 wheeler show disguised as a boat show.
  19. I heard a rumor that the ice was over 1" thick at Peach Orchard.
  20. OK Phil I just sent you a pm. I hope the issue is corrected.
  21. That is great. Is it ready to be printed? I haven't been able to get on this site all day long or last evening. Please PM me how to get it and the price. I'm about 1.5 hours from Rogers but need to visit Cabela's anyway.
  22. I didn't see your post about a pm Phil as I couldn't get on this morning at all. I just now tried at 3 pm and got on but kind of slowly.
  23. I'm having the same pm problem. It gives me an error message but the pm seems to be going or at least I hope it is.
  24. It has been raised and has been open for several weeks.
  25. I have a bunch of them and haven't given up yet. FEB, MAR, APR will see me using them every trip.
