  1. My honest opinion? I would frame them on the cards and keep them or sell them or donate them to the SOCFFF Conclave Auction... Well, I'd certainly frame them somehow...
  2. Why didn't you include Brookes and Cuts?
  3. I sure am glad you didn't get those mixed up, Bill.... First, I'm not sure how you are going to "police" this type of thing... delete all "suspicious" posts? That's only going to cause more problems. Second, anyone who reads ANYTHING on the internet and takes it as gospel is only fooling himself... Third, the only rule needed here is to quit complaining to BILL about YOUR problems... I have used Trip Advisor to research hotels and resorts for several years and I can tell you for sure that these things are true... (but if you take them for "gospel", you're only fooling yourself... right? ) 1. One man's Waldorf is another man's fleabag hotel. 2. Some people just like to complain, no matter how they are treated. 3. Those pictures of the rooms, grounds, etc. were taken by professional photographers and edited (air brushed) to make everything look WONDERFUL even if it is a flea bag. By the way, Bill... I want to file a complaint. I fished Taney yesterday and didn't catch 200 fish in an hour. It's all the forum's fault...
  4. Click here for the website...
  5. I would say there is a defect in the drag. Take it back to where you bought it and see if they can help.
  6. I love my two Konicas as well and I agree with Jerod... these are shelf pull closeouts. Just be sure there is a warranty on them and I'm sure there is with Lamson.
  7. Whoooo boy... Kristina's having a baby Kyle.... Now Michael's gonna have a baby... alien... drack.. Was Elvis the pilot of that alien aircraft?
  8. I'll third that motion...
  9. Pssst... IT... Don works for... well... he's EMPLOYED by the Federal Government... Don't confuse him with the facts...
  10. The first pic does it for me... Nice looking rod!
  11. I'm willing to bet that someone will be doing a Czech Nymphing class at Conclave this October. Good way to get a good visual and even some hands on experience with someone who knows a lot about it.
  12. Nice pheeshes! Love trying out new water. Very nice longear... Now... About that rod... Is that a custom wind between the reel and the stripping guide? I'd like to see a closer look...
  13. I've had pretty good luck so far with Craigslist. I've sold and bought items on there and no complaints. If you sell: 1. Make people aware that you will NOT hold anything for anybody. 2. CASH only (unless you want to chance a bad check) 3. Don't be surprised if someone says they will be there at (?) time and don't show up. If you buy: 1. Don't complain if you get there and someone else has already bought it. First one with dollars in hand... 2. CASH will get you a lot of leverage. 3. If you tell the seller you will be there, BE THERE! And if not, at least give them a call to let them know so they're not hanging around waiting on you. Oh... and one more thing... Those girls do NOT look like their pictures... (Did I say that out loud?)
  14. Give Michael cheap beer and he'll put Ronnie and his chili dogs to shame... No contest!!!! Actually I showed Ronnie that pattern before Michael or Leonard were even BORN....
  15. MTFA or Southwest Missouri Fly Fishers both have members (some are members of both clubs) who can help you. I'm sure if you go by Backcountry Outfitters and catch Michael on a slow period, he would give you some pointers. Out of curiosity, I took the BPS class a couple of years ago and would not recommend it unless you've never held a fly rod in your hands and just want the very basic basics. To start getting serious, get with a good instructor - CCI or not.... We could do an informal "mini conclave" type of thing at the dam pavillion this summer. I know Michael held something last year like that and Jeremy did a casting clinic.
  16. Well, after getting back from Mexico late Thursday night, I spent Friday getting unpacked and the house back in order. Picked up the dogs from the kennel and all that stuff. Then, Saturday started mowing the lawn. THEN started feeling bad, so took a nap... THEN woke up with nausea and a headache, so went back to bed... THEN Sunday morning went to Urgent Care... No... Not the H1N1 flu... or swine flu... Just a "bug" of some sort... So, I've been out of pocket since then. Now back to work and feeling much better. Anyway... The trip... GREAT time! My only real beef is the fishing sucked. No bill fish at all and only a few Trigger and Groupers on the bottom. I did wrangle with a big bottom fish... maybe a big Tuna for a few minutes, but he got off. Still a good fishing trip... Just not a "catching" trip. I only took 776 images while there. You can see them at THIS WEBSITE if you are interested. Phil... I think you and Bill need a lodge in Playa de Carman and I'll manage it... LOL
  17. Hey Scheetz!.... I know a little of the "behind the scenes" of the REELAID gig and you da man! for what you're doing... Rock 'em dead, dude! But remember where you'll be and how many ghosts of pickers past will be watchin' over your shoulder... And if you make the pilgrimage down to Beale, look up a white dude in a panama hat named Rick who plays lead for the Straw Dawgs to pick up some really cool Hendrix/SRV licks... Dude is righteous!!! And of COURSE... you gotta do the Gibson plant...
  18. Just got word a few minutes ago that my department is being eliminated in Springfield. So I'll be back among the unemployed after October 3rd.... That's 3 times in two years... April/May of 07, March of 08 and now June of 09...
  19. Stealth and Don in the same sentence? Poor gobbler does not know he's in imminent danger of being Thanksgiving dinner at the May house... Well.... that is if Don could shoot straight....
  20. Nice pheesh Jeremy...
  21. Yes, Apoo did call asking for power bait and offering me a squeegie... Of course, Apoo HAD to call while my wife was here visiting... Yeah, I"m here all day today... At lease tell Michael I was... Coffee's ready and a few donuts left...
  22. Yep... Looks more productive than dynamite...
  23. Come on in and sit a spell. Michael is out of town and I'm mindin' the store. (GAWD is he desperate for help...) FREE coffee and bull... LOTS of bull... FREE recycleable container with any purchase. (aka: Brown paper bag) Use it to carry your lunch in. Use it as a hand puppet. Use it to hide that bottle of Thunderbird you're sippin' from. Use it to meal the fish for a fish fry. PLUS MANY MANY MORE USES!!! 10% off fly tying material (up to $50. I can't afford to pay back more than $5) for the BEST Don May embarrassing story today and tomorrow!!! (Must be told IN the store... Bonus prize if Don is here and he turns three shades of red...) FREE Thing-a-ma-bobber for the first one to bring me lunch after 1pm!!!
  24. On the grounds that I would like to remain married and even more - ALIVE - I refuse to answer this question...
  25. They say my great-grandmother would throw big ones back and keep the little ones to fry and eat whole. I grew up spoon-cleaning bluegill and crappie and bass. Pan fried after rolling in cornmeal. I began filleting the bigger ones after I grew up and a fishing buddy of mine got me started filleting smaller ones. As long as we got a piece of flesh about the size of your finger, we were good. Those were what we sampled during a fish fry... Then everyone wondered why we were not hungry when it came time to eat... The tails are great. I also ate catfish tails too... I'm still going to get some fillets and boil them in shrimp boil.
