  1. OK... I hate to admit I'm stumped, but I am... either that or I'm just too tired and lazy to work on it... On my laptop, I view each thread with all the replies showing... On my desktop, I can see the original post, but the other posts are in bracket form below and can only open one at a time. I can't find a setting that is causing this. Any ideas?
  2. What's the image size and file size? Are they *.jpg? Could be the file size is too large. I upload to photobucket.com and post that way. Seems to work well on most forums. PB will change the size to fit most forum software.
  3. If you know Charlie Bonner, you know he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Charlie always has a smile on his face and loves to joke and take a joke and also loves flishing, especially fly fishing. Even if you never met him, you need to give him your thoughts and prayers... Charlie is in St Edwards Mercy Hospital in Ft Smith, AR. He has stomach cancer and it has gone to his bones. He needs our prayers and thoughts and if you are so inclined, you can send him a greeting a couple of ways... Click here to go to the St Edwards website to send him an email to his room. He's in room 5516... If you have Facebook, click here and go to the Prayers for Charlie page and send him a message. Charlie gets a kick out of hearing from all his fishing buddies and I think that is going to help him through this thing...
  4. Smurfette?
  5. EEENNNNCCCCKKKKK.... Wrong... Not the "simple as that" part anyway. Yes, they do open the gates to generate electricity to sell, however, that is not the only reason. The dams have a two-fold purpose... Electricity and flood control. To that end, they are required to maintain a level of all the lakes on the White system to within a range set by COE. There is a balancing act that occurs when you take into consideration Beaver, Table Rock, Bull Shoals, and even Norfork and Greers Ferry (Little Red) when maintaining these levels. It has to do with calculations of the levels at all of these and everything downstream, plus electricity demands. What is occuring right now, in my humble opinion, has to do with a little of both. Lake levels are not low and there is a factor of what water will be coming into the basin in the near future. However, the answer to why they are generating a lot right now is really anybody's guess except for SWEPCO and COE. Also, we tend to think in terms of how much "generation" they are doing and tie that to "generator" and therefore electricity. They may be running full bore open and not "generating" (at least into the grid) a Kw. Think to last spring and the floods. They certainly didn't sell all the electricity that was being "generated."
  6. I'll have to wait until Friday, but I'm sure I'll find some place to wet a fly...
  7. He's kind of in between... He appears to be a juvenile just working on getting his white feathers. I think they are 3 years old when this happens? Nice shots.
  8. In the SPECIAL FORUMS section at the top of the list... http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=15240
  9. I think we need to bring John Wayne and Clint Eastwood justice back...
  10. I picked up a FishPond Windwalker chest pack at the Conclave auction this fall. While I too cringe at the price of some of this stuff, I really love my chest pack. I have a William and Joseph chest pack that will now go to my wife if she starts fishing because the Fish Pond holds everything my old vest would in one small section. It also can be a side pack, worn like a fanny pack, or attached to a back pack. It is very versatile. I started switching from a vest when I discovered it added a great degree of comfort when I took it off. This chest pack and the W&J gave me a lot of casting freedom I didn't have with the vest. Now if I could just figure out what all those little bells and whistles and loops and holes and tags on the pack are for....
  11. I have silk undies (yeah, Dano... you don't know what your missin'...) and poly over that. The fleece wader pants are nice, too, but I'm usually good with just jeans over the silk and poly. I don't wear anything but regular socks when wading since the stocking feet seem to do just fine in my Chotas and 55 deg water.
  12. Fished RR today and should have been taking pictures... Did get a 10 minute eagle show just before leaving and here are some of the 200 images I took...
  13. Headed out to RR after calling and finding out TRD was at 2 units. Got there around noon and fished a few holes with very little luck. They seemed to be very very picky and didn't want anything I pitched to them. Had a few takes, but nothing special. Did hang one hawg on a WB, but broke my tippet (my fault...) Fished until just before 4pm and took 4 to hand, all dinks, and one foul hookup. Did see Tim's pet 22 incher who kept cruising by along with his 20 inch buddy right behind me. They almost kissed my toes once when they came by.... As I was loading up, I looked up and four bald eagles were coming over the mountain. The put on quite a show for about 10 minutes or so. I got about 200 images of them. The best are posted in the photography forum...
  14. DOES YOUR MOM KNOW YOU'RE IN HERE TALKING TO THIS BUNCH OF MISFITS!!!!????!?!?!?!? Just kiddin'... Well, kind of.... Welcome to the forum... (Dang... we gotta be nice now, guys...)
  15. Try Craigslist first, then go for eBay...
  16. In that case, nevermind... Michael already has your cc number... committed to memory...
  17. They don't know how bad I HATE kittens...
  18. There are no shad coming through BSD... The rumors are just that... Honest... OK... OK.... OK..... You twisted my arm!!! Click here for Jimmy T's report on the shad kill
  19. Welcome to the nut houe, BC... Jolly Mill is a pretty nice place. I've not fished it, but did spend some time at a fly fishing event with Dave and Emily Whitlock a couple years ago. Now that you've started tying, just save yourself some time and give your credit card number to your local fly shop so they can just charge you and have it ready when you walk in the door. That's what Duckydoty and I do at Backcountry Outfitters...
  20. I could do that... Just as long as I could keep one foot on the ground at all times... Building Antenna Span Earth You have to do all of these to be considered a BASE jumper... I wonder which one TRD would come under?
  21. I'll second that...
  22. Here are a few shots taken with my new D40... Hope you enjoy... Taken NYD during the OAF gathering... Two for Duckydoty's enjoyment... One for Mr. Ducky... From my mom's back yard...
  23. When researching for a new camera for my wife this Christmas, that camera was on the short list along with the A590 IS I wound up putting under the tree. Your camera is a great one for sure. Like I said, start working on those settings and learning what they mean and do. Also, do you "play around" with any post processing like with PhotoShop, Picasa, or similar photo software? It can help a not so great image become a real keeper with a few clicks. Like I say, I'm still learning a lot about mine and wish it would warm up a bit so I can get out and do some real practicing... I'm partial to Nikon SLR stuff, but I'm sold on Canon P&S cameras for sure...
  24. I've been in your shoes, Bud and it ain't no picnic for sure. The downside to having this much advanced notice is the lack of moral you and everyone else will have until "D-Day" rolls around. I had three months notice and it was like going to an all day funeral every day. We kept busy with work, but when things counted, we were just like "whoopie... big freakin' deal"... My customer actually gave us a big contract a week before we closed (we had been working with them for 2 years on the project) and my contact called and said tongue in cheek "GREAT NEWS!" We did have a big laugh over it... Best of luck to you in whatever transpires. I've taken mine as a wake up call to change careers and so far, I love it!! Hope Uncle Sam helps you with the transition as he has me... You'll be in our prayers for sure...
  25. Happy Birthday, dude... Hope you spend some of it on the water... Or ice if you wait a few hours....
