  1. I am currently using a 787c2 humminbird that I think is amazing. Color gps wideside mapping it is really an impressive unit. I can distinguish hard soft bottom easier and baitfish just glow. It is really an expensive purchase and takes a long time to learn all it can do for you, but I am super satified with mine.
  2. Jason, I fished a tourney last May and my partner I caught 2 whites that were huge, biggest either of us have seen. We were throwing a big swim jig and thought I had a true kicker, disappointed but was a blast at the time. Caught lots of fsih in that area. I like that area. I fish an 87 gray/maroon Ranger 360. Maybe see you in area. Stop n say hey. TR (Timmy)
  3. Bill In an earlier post you said you counted 44 boats past your lodge headed toward Long Creek? I thought Long Creek was just past 86 hiway toward Arkansas? I thought your lodge was over on the White towards the Kings river area. Just asking what the pros are thinking and doing to catch fish. TRRanger
  4. I was considering buying my line in the bulk 1000 yard spools to save money. The initial cost is more but in the long run you save. My question is does it weaken the line by sitting on the shelf. Is there a life span on fishing line? I usually use Maxima for my mono and Seaguar Invizx and or PLine Floroclear for my fluoro. I respool with about 100 yards at a time on my baitcasters about 3 times a year. Thanks for the help in advance. TR
  5. Hey guys how does the program work, cannot find any info about it????? Thanks in adavance. TR
  6. Bill and Phil, I cannot thank you enought for putting on such a great seminar. The information was great and the cost was even better.( free ) I learned alot about the stick bait and how to make it a go to bait and have confidence in fishing it, rather than a got to suffer thru bait. Again thank you for the prizes and the info. I am looking forward to the Mike Webb seminar next month. Thanks Lot TRRanger, Timmy.
  7. As far as the right hand cast left hand reel thing, I too cast right handed and switch to reel in. I have been trying to learn to cast left handed so as not to have to change all my reels. If I was starting out I would cast with my left hand/arm and then not have to switch. The reason is right handed reels are easier to find and have a better selection.
  8. I have found that the Revo S by Abu to be a really well made dependable baitcaster. It casts light to heavy with ease, I also feel that matching the rod weight/action to the lure weight to be very important. I bought 4 revos last year and got a pfleuger president given to me as gift for fixing a guys truck. I like them both and was going to buy when another pfleuger when that friend turned me to the revos. I bough mine at Bass Pro, but have since found them at walmart for $40.00 less around $90.00 apiece at walmart. As far as rods go I like the Rick Clunn casting series and the bass pro graphite series, not super expensive but If you match the line lure and action closely they work just as well and are really sensitive. The easiest way to learn is with a heavy weight and the cast control tight and cast short distances then as your skill rises loosen the cat control and cast further, trying different styles of cast ie over hand side arm underhand pitch and flips. Hope this helps. tr
  9. Is that pedal the flat pad electronic pedal? If so I have used it and it is to easy to change, It moves to fast and hard to hold on a straight course. Pedal to touchy for my liking. I guess I am a fan of the old cable type pedals. Old school.
  10. I have never used either of the ones your describing, but I have had the abu revo s reels and really like them. I also own a pflueger president, that is a couple of years old that I like very well. If I had a choice of the two, I would chose the revo over the pflueger. They cast a mile and are extremely hard to backlash. A plus to me!!! They are an entry level reel in the cost of $130, but are light weight and easy to handle. I bought three revos more after the 1st one and not had an issue with any of them. They are a middle range gear I think 6.4:1? and are very versatile.
  11. Here, just new to forum. Not got on water lately due to new house purchase. Thanks for the great info will post when I have news of my own to add.
