  1. I am looking to fish the Aunts Creek area to KC/Mill Creek area this Sat. Are the ramps frozen and can you fish it safely with out tearing up your equipment on the ice??
  2. I have the same affliction, I have to have sunglasses in prescription to function. The best I have found are Oakely sunglasses. There lens when curved are the only ones that do not distort your vision when you look to the side. They are pricey but for me the last around 4 years and I wear them alot, not just when fishing. They offer polarized, antiglare coatings, and mirrored lens and several frame styles to chose from. They are strong lens and great frames.
  3. TFO makes a fine spinning rod as well. $100.00. not sure what action on spinning rod I would choose but have never had an issue with there equipment. I use 8 lb line and a baitcaster thats why I use a lite action rod.
  4. TFO med light 7' they make a 6' 6" as well. These baitcasters are fast tips and has backbone and will sling a light jerkbait a mile. $100.00
  5. I know that is not what he is asking but that is just to FUNNY.

  8. now that is funny.
  9. heck I did not even know Table Rock went past Baxter!
  10. I have found that if you slow your cooking down, lower your temps and cook it to a med rare to med it wil be tasty and tender. And I agree season lightly let the deer taste shine. The bread and chicken fry is good as well.
  11. Ok now that I know where Eagle Rock is, and By the way that is on the other side of the earth. I am really interested in fishing this and meeting all you crazy fisherman. Sign me up for 2 anglers to fish. If you will accept a Northerner. IE Nixa, MO. guy in an Old Ranger.
  12. Thanks for the input, still undecided. I am going to talk to my buddy with a Ranger like mine and drive his Hydraulic steer and use that to make my choice. I will let you know what I decide and why I chose it when the work is done. Thanks for all the great help. TR
  13. I can change cables without pulling motor. My motor has a jackplate so it is not mounted direct to transom. A member of my club has the same hull ranger that I have and he has the Seastar system so I think it will clear. I just was wondering about longevity. This is the 2nd set of cables I have had to put in since I have had the boat.(2008). Is there advantages in handling or easy of steering with the hydraulic over cable less trouble. I fish all winter, boat is garage kept and has been all its life, I fish on average 3 weekends a month so the boat is not sitting. I am going to do the work myself either way just trying to spent wisely.
  14. I have an 87 360V Ranger Single console 175 Mercury that is cable steering. Saturday had a rack/cable freeze up and am looking it to buying a Seastar Pro hydraulic steering system. I was wondering if it was worth the extra money to change or should I just repalce the cables and racks and go on. Any thoughts or input would be helpful. I have always driven cable steered boats and know little about the advantages or draw backs of upgrading. I am keeping the boat for quite some time so the extra money might be worth the investment. Thanks TR
  15. thanks I will try them out.
  16. Do they sell the heads without skirts?
  17. Champ, I think your right on I remember hearing of that same info years ago. Color Mucho Importanto
  18. Sounds of Freedom in Ozark at the CC and 65 exit is an indoor pistol/rifle shooting range. Buisek State Park on 65 hwy just North of Branson has a rifle benches and shooting burms where you could shoot a pistol. Free to use and easy to find.
  19. In some states this, ie baiting deer is perfectly legal. No different than fishing with live bait, just because you dont do it that way doesnt mean that others cant if allowed by law. Killing any deer with a bow under any circumstance is difficult at best.
  20. I have never used tackle warehouse before, they seem to have really good pricing, are they good people to deal with?? Anybody had any issues??
  21. I am interested in 4 of your rods can you IM me with contact info please.
  22. James, I am an old ranger owner as well. I have tried ordering parts from 3 different Ranger Dealers with no one wanting to help me. After getting completly peeved off I wrote a very long letter directly to Ranger to explain my anger ant not getting service from their dealers, the directed me to Ranger Part direct number and with serial number it is amazing the number of parts the have available to ship direct to me and at great prices. Their number is 1-800-724-7273 Iam a believer in OE parts when I can and this has helped me out alot in repairing and keeping my 87 360V in top working order. Hope this is helpful to you. 25. I have found TFO Temple Fork Outfitters to be a quality rod at a reasonable $100.00 price tag and designed by Gary Loomis. I am using a 7' extra heavy and a 7' heavy and seem to do really well for me.
