Was visiting California for work. They haven’t had any rain in this area for 9 months. I’m betting the lake is 15-20’ down.

I hunted Truman at Clinton all through the 90’s. We would hunt “The Slot” which was up the Grand River arm by a railroad bridge. I can’t tell you how many ducks we killed.

Well, I kind of had a little posters remorse over the bashing scientists thing. Scientists, Researchers, some engineers obviously deserve our respect and I didn’t want to paint a broad brush stroke. I only shared a couple of bad experiences I had and made it sound like I am very skeptical. Well, on certain things I’m still skeptical but more often than not, the results they obtain are very useful.

Experience is the best teacher. Yes, you need to learn the scientific method, and school will give you a good foundation for that. After that, hard work and perseverance will take you to the next level. I’ve dealt with some of the same attitudes 45ACP is referring to. It gets very old quickly. I don’t give a flying POS where you went to school, or what your degree is in. Show me results then I’ll happily believe you. I’m talking proof, not a chart that has been projected and has been based on a poor baseline.

So the best thing to do is talk with Mark at Adventure Outdoors, he guides on that stretch. He would know more than any biologist. edited: I spoke with Mark at adventure outdoors and he said they have approximately 20 or more electronic chips attached to brown trout near his building… They have antennas on top of his roof at his canoe rental. He said that the reason they are doing it is because they don’t feel the brown trout have very good habitat but the rainbows seem to be thriving and they want to understand why.

So I will agree with you that that there aren’t as many brown trout as there used to be in that stretch… I believe it’s because of the amount of fishing pressure only...not habitat.

Mark, the owner of Adventure Outdoors told me he recently caught a nice trout under his bridge at Scott’s Ford. I’ll get the details.
