Do you have solid evidence that it's good? I'm always a little skeptical when I hear that nothing can be challenged and we should accept the data as a gold standard. I took the last statement out of my post because it sounded bad, for that I'm sorry.

I've had too many good anglers tell me that they've watched them collect for 30-40 minutes within a .5 miles of the boat ramp. And apparently it takes a little more effort to shock anywhere but the middle of the river. I'm sticking by my statement.

Many times the difference between a good day of fishing and a bad day of fishing is knowing where the fish are. All the data collectors have to do is miss one big rootwad in a spot and skew the data for that entire section of river. Are the people collecting the data committed enough to make sure things are done right? Do they have an experienced field agent with them? Is it a hot day and are they getting fatigued too easily? So, to answer your last question, yes, I would rather have an experienced field agent collecting the data...if it takes a decade then there is a serious problem.

The quality of the data collected is just as important as the interpretation of the data. I've seen so much faulty data collection in my business that I barely trust any data unless I collect it myself. There are rookies in every profession.

Not pissed either, there is no pissing contest. It is a fabricated pissing contest. There is no STL 5,6,7 or whatever. The MDC has spoken, the only science based decision was not implemented because they didn't want the backlash. What else is there to say? You and I will be dead and gone before anything changes.

There is no pissing contest between Meramec and SWMO anglers, it was made up by a fake Indian with nothing else to do.

From what I understand Ham, it was one radical guy from Van Buren who started all the crap. I guess it's like PETA, they love to intimidate Super Models who wear fur on runways, but never mess with bikers wearing leather.

Even at 55 I'm well aware of the fact that I'm not what I used to be. I notice ever so slight lapses in mental clarity and confidence. I remember jumping off a pontoon boat in the middle of Table Rock a couple of years ago without a life jacket. We were all laughing and playing and the wind picked up and I started struggling to get back to the boat. I'll never do that again!?
