    Iā€™ll give you the Walleye, even though there are some large ones caught in the Ozarks. catfish- see below but Iā€™m working and canā€™t respond all the way yet

    Actually we have very good Largemouth bass fishing, LOZ proves that. Walleye fishing is very good, trout fishing is very good (maybe not Steelhead). Catfishing is excellent. But river smallmouth fishing is on a different level, just not up to par.

    A matter of opinion...IMHO I think not, unless mediocre is the new high. If youā€™ve been anywhere North, South, East or West it doesnā€™t even come close.

    Weā€™ve been through this many times. I even posted a letter from the MDC that said if you keep misidentifying smallmouth, it would ā€œprobablyā€ result in a citation. The truth is an MDC agent wouldnā€™t write you a ticket even if he was in the boat with you. That, in a nutshell is my beef. I wouldnā€™t care if they completely banned gigging forever.

    What he means is that as long as you donā€™t possess them after you gig them and throw them back, itā€™s ok .Because it was a case of mistaken identity....then you wonā€™t get fined. We all obviously will not condone the gigging of smallmouth or any other game fish

    Why donā€™t you guys do something totally foreign to you and actually go up the the Evergreen POlice department PRIOR to going on the float and explaining the situation in a nice way...it will go much further than showing up full of piss and vinegar trying to pick a fight.

    The one thing to remember is when doing a Google search, the Ozark Anglers forum shows up, but Facebook posts and other social media outlets do not.

    I think itā€™s pretty obvious when someone is joking, and when someone is really POā€™d. Anyway we all have to walk the tightrope of giving out information that will help people catch fish and enjoy the outdoors, versus giving away locations. Even if you think ā€œThis is no secret to anyone who lives in Missouriā€, you need to understand that in our world, there might be no secrets, but in the WWW world, there are plenty of meat hunters with no ethics or conscience. Why give them any info?

    Canā€™t imagine that stress JD, all I can say is that Iā€™m sure itā€™s such a relief to know that itā€™s all clear. Nothing else matters other than all clear!!! Merry Christmas, Iā€™m sure youā€™ll be enjoying it much more this year!
