    Like the Coen brothers said No country for old men. We are supposed to be so developed as a country socially but in reality the kids nowadays are just socially retarded. The baby boomers did a bad job of parenting in my opinion

    You don't want them to get a good look at the lure in clear water, therefore on top you will be splashing and using the turbulence and the sun to your advantage. With the jig you're using the bottom color/ composition to your advantage. In murky water they can swim and follow right next to the lure getting a good look at it. The rattles in a crankbait, and vibration and flash of a spinnerbait help them locate the bait. There are a couple of exceptions to the rule, mainly being hard and soft jerk baits

    Loose rule of thumb Clear water fish very top and very bottom (topwater, jigs) Murky water fish the middle water column (crankbaits, spinnerbaits)

    I think DenJac is more correct, these fish get caught and released often. In rivers the studies have shown a 40-50% catch rate of tagged bass. Granted a resevoir is a different story but these fish get re-caught more than we think. After all, why do people hang out at the closest cove to PB 2 after a tournament?

    All seriousness, not all jet boats are created equal. Some boats make more wake than others, regardless of the engine size. Yes, there many jerks in jet boats, but the act of slowing down just for courtesy, might just shake your canoe even more than staying at higher speeds. a little bit of courtesy on both sides goes a long way

    People hate winners, St.Louis is a great baseball town. KC has a great team, but when I see the cockiness by the way they stroll out onto the baseball field after having 1.5 good seasons, it reminds me of a teenager who just got his first Camaro. When you get a history of excellence on the field, come see me.

    I did attend the meeting and relayed to Scott what I heard. The general consensus of the meeting was disappointment in the fact that the only possible stream reg change seemed to be a section of the current river. Any changes to smallmouth fishing for the better won't be in our lifetime. The meeting was about as enjoyable as the Mayweather -Paquiao fight.

    Tim, I understand where you're coming from.....but I have seen too many cases where the methodology is so bad that statistics can't overcome the result. FWIW, I'm not disagreeing with you. Perhaps it's different in your field. Not trying to be sarcastic here but there is an article on the internet that says NOAA scientists knowingly falsified temperature readings, have you heard this? And is this true?
