  1. If it makes you feel any better most of the chicks in the magazines are "enhanced" as well
  2. My favorite meal at Pasta House is linguine and chicken livers! It's that kind of meal that allows the heart doctors to buy their summer homes!
  3. You 2D guys need to expand your minds, don't limit your mind with 2D. 3D is here to stay. This is the next big leap in photonics. Microsoft has a similar product to this for $300 ps. Chief using God references...gotta love it
  4. It's also the only place I know who's main drag thru town is called "Porter Wagoner Blvd"
  5. I'm with ya, Hemingway sure had a cool way about him
  6. I think you found a great lady in Mary... When I say " I should be fishing" I only get a good response 30 percent of the time!
  7. It's amazing how dogs become like a family member, sorry for your loss.
  8. I think Al is right on, in the winter the big fish will hit the smaller jigs and not the bigger ones. In the warmer months a big spinnerbait will catch the bigger fish if conditions are right. I think a couple of weeks ago Al commented that a bass will hit a big minnow but shy away from big craws.
  9. Thought they would have been on that popper
  10. Nice story! Nice pics too!
  11. So good to hear! Like CGI in movies, special effects can't overcome bad writing! kids these days don't get the goods anymore unless someone like you presents it to them....good job!
  12. I've always been a little leery of the cutting point hooks, they are extremely sharp and penetrate well but I've always thought that cutting/tearing a hole in the fish's mouth could eventually wallow out bigger than the original hole when the fish shakes around and fights. The hole will then be bigger and the fish could throw the bait. I also think although sharp at first, they wont hold an edge as long as a sharpened needle point.
  13. I remember well!
  14. Some truth to that, but I'm not good enough to sharpen them correctly. I'll sharpen a worm hook but not trebles, unless it's a musky size lure. Lost enough big fish that now I'm a hook snob I guess.
  15. Only joking of course, I have several $25 rods for the canoe
  16. LOL... but think of it this way; If you were struck by lightning, would you want to be found carrying a $25 Shakespeare rod?
  17. You just reminded me of something I've always wanted to discuss. Up to the last 3 years or so I've always been under the impression that light wire hooks penetrate better than heavier wire hooks. I've recently changed my mind and feel the heavy wire hooks penetrate better for the same sharpness, because of the flex of a light wire. Wanted your opinion
  18. These seem to be great replacement trebles, the short shanks don't interfere with each other. This might even let you use a bigger size than the lure came with. Plus you can buy them at any Walmart. The 4.3 technology refers to the ratio of point length to wire diameter. Tests have shown that this produces the optimum stay sharp ratio. Some of the chemically sharpened hooks loose their point after a couple of fish or snags.
  19. I'll bring the jet boat, the four wheelers and the jet ski's.....
  20. Too bad we can't fish our way down to the MDC access points
  21. As usual, great work Dan! I was planning on something a little more bold and illegal with treated lumber and cement pours, but I'll go your way. Where do you want me to go?
  22. Looks good! The one thing I've found out with walk the dog lures, it's all about how you work them and not so much the lure. Any of the walk the dog lures will work fine out of the box. Some glide better, some splash better, some can walk "in place". It's what the fish want that day. To me if they could invent a lure that does all 4 things well...walk, glide, pop/splash and roll, Then you could use it in almost every situation. Ususally the ones that are a popper walker hybrid, don't glide so well. The good gliders don't pop/splash as well. So, I think you need 2 or 3 walkers in your arsenal. One for spring and early summer, these pop/splash and stay in place to annoy fish in the general time of the spawn. The other in mid summer to fall that glides and walks well when the fish are in the chasing mode, like a sammy. My two cents
  23. If you test hair jigs in the sink while your wife is trying to cook dinner, you might be a SMS If you think "The Nutcracker" was something you once did off the high dive then you just might be a .......uh.......uh oh wrong list!
  24. 7. If you refer to Chuck Tryons book as "the holy scriptures" you just might be a SMS
  25. This is the exact reason why I consistently catch more big fish in the fall than the spring.
