  1. Sounds like a good trip Mic. Any size to the fish yet?
  2. I must be lucky in that I have never encountered one of the "vacation salesmen" you guys are talkinga about. I am actually suprised Bass Pro allow's that in the store. Must be some nice kickbacks. The only thing I have encountered lately is the window people at a gas station in chesterfield that offer to inspect and then clean your windows and then try to sell you on...I guess new windows. I never let them get far before I cut them off. Usually pisses of the pretty gals the most. You telling me no? Yep, babe now go find your sugar daddy.
  3. I wish they would be released, but Phil makes a lot of good points.
  4. I fished for smallmouth with a 5 weight last year and went out and bought a 7 weight for them this year. As Wayne mentioned it depends on what you intend to throw and I like throwing bigger wind resistent stuff. I wade fish for them mostly so a floating line suit's me just fine. The 7 works great and it is much easier to throw the bigger flies...but not to heavy the fight won't still be fun. Makes a great heavy streamer rod for trout as well.
  5. I am a sling pack all the way and i have yet to find anything that suits me better. I'd hate a vest and chest pack too. I wish I could find another just like it to hold bass flies instead of changing stuff out. I know a fisherman who just uses his wife's old purses. Catches fish like crazy and has lot's of space.
  6. Nice. My father caught a 15 lb channel cat out of that lake about 5 years ago.
  7. It is few hours of short 10-15 minute films on fly fishing. The films are shot by everday people who travel to exotic locations to fish. The fishing part is great, but many of the personal storied behind the fishing and the meaning are just as good. Trust me it is worth it IMO.
  8. It is well worth the $12 to see the show.
  9. Nice fish and that video clip is too funny!
  10. I agree. Most of the time the stuff is in a disorganized heap toward the back of the store. Never found much I could use there. There is nothing else close by so under the right management they could make a killing. Seems like they don't care.

    Cardinals

Yeah, he is really struggling right now and i am sure it has crossed his mind. I think his average is down to .190...ouch. It will be very interesting to see if is able to right the ship.
  12. I have a Siberian Husky and a German Shephard. The Husky is by far the best dog I have ever had, but they need a ton of exercise. My nephew's love playing with him. They are terrified of the German Shepard though lol...he is a giant for this bread about 125lb's...and a total clutz....always running into things and people.

    Cardinals

They are looking good so far...and they can score some runs in a hurry. The bullpen might need to be touched up a bit, but I'd say the Cardinals, if they stay healthy, should win the division with relative ease.
  14. My buddy won $640 on I'll Have Another. Picked him to win. Interestingly enough he said about halfway through the race that the pace was too fast and he didn't think Bodemeister would be able to hold on.
  15. Busch get's a ton of pressure and big bass are a bit hard to catch on those lakes. Lake 33 is your best bet for big bass. The MDC has a decent write up on Busch that could steer you in the right direction.
  16. Casting large flies on a light rod can be tiresome for sure. I used to fish for bass with a 5 weight and the rod was fine, but I am super happy with the 7 weight
  17. Sounds like and interesting day for sure. Glad you got out ok. I remember watching that River Monster's show and one of his camera got struck by lighting....that can't feel to good.
  18. I only was able to watch bit and pieces, but boy that water at Bennett looked quite a bit shallower than it is now. Not sure if was just a low water year, but you can't stand in some of those places below the dam today and fish...you'd be under water. I like the trout parks for what that they are. You just have to set your expectations. If I just want to hang out with friends and have a lazy day of relatively easy fishing and hanging out they are good for that. If I want to seriously fish I go elsewhere.
  19. lol. That might not be a bad thing on the water.
  20. What would they call you if you just replaced your wife's picture with a picture of Al Agnew? i am trout snob, becoming a smallmouth snob, bluegill snob, and pretty much a fishing snob.
  21. I have seen that same behavior once up above Tan Vat. Whatever they were eating was so small I could not even see it. I can't shed any light on what exatcly it was. I do know of a few people that fish 30's down there at times...
  22. Very interesting to see the skippers go different directions. Looks like it is going to be a tough long season for these guys.
  23. Yeah, the Time Bandit is still around. Looks like the Cornelia Marie is no longer around. I only caught part of the 1st new episode of the season, but looks like Jake and Josh had to sell. Weird seeing them work the deck of the other boats.
  24. Anyone still watch this show?

    Ouch

I would like to see Mizzou play them as well as SLU. I think that would be great for the state. There really isn't much of a reason to not play them in basketball. There are plenty of games to make your schedule stronger if need be...unlike in football.
