  1. It is good time. I already have my tickets for this year's show in STL.
  2. I usually go to Harvrove's and just purchased a 7 weight a few weeks ago. The customer service was great as well. The few times I have been in feathercraft this year the customer service was much better than I remembered so I will bounce back and forth at bit. Both are fine stores IMO.
  3. Snakes don't bother me too much. Spiders in the other hand...not a big fan.
  4. lol. That is crazy. I never knew you weren't suppossed to drink in certain areas. I usually keep a beer or two in my waders and drink when needed.
  5. Money was a huge factor in Missouri's move, but instabilty was a huge factor as well. MU ran the risk of ending up in a second tier conferance just like KU. If MU wanted stability and a long term future the SEC was their only choice and SEC had to have a 14th team. Missouri needed the SEC and the SEC needed Missouri. Any other year and any other time and Missouri may still be feeding of the scraps of Texas or maybe even worse. It was Texas and the LHN that caused all this. The other teams in the Big 12 have no options to move and Texas knows this. Therefore they keep the LHN and this gives them tremondous power over the conferance The LHN gives Texas a huge recruiting advantage too. In every other conferance the revenue is shared equally, but not in the big 12 and that is the problem. Why do you think no other conferance will take Texas unless they give up the LHN. It is simply a bad deal for anyone not named Texas. The choice for the remaining schools is to stay in the Big 12 with unequal revenue sharing with rules that highly favor Texas or play in MWC or the WAC or maybe the Big East. Texas is holding the schools hostage in essence. Missouri saw an opportunity to leave and they took it. I don't blame them at all. KU would have taken it too. Colordo, Nebraska, and A@M already have. I don't blame KU for being upset about the situation, but they are severly misguided in their blame and anger. Self needs to chill out and realize this didn't start at MU.
  6. I just purchased a new 7 weight and some wading boots are in my future. However, with a wedding coming up and a new home purchase that is about it. It is going to be a lean year in the "buying fishing crap for me" department.

    Sweet!

Yep, any road win is a good win and after the KU game I will take it. OU shot the ball well. MU needs to clean up a bit on defense.
  8. And Mizzou should have been in a BCS in 2008. Ironically enough they ended up playing Arkansas that year. Mizzou 38 Arkansas 7.

    Sweet!

A great win for Mizzou! They control their own destiny the rest of the way as they own the tie breaker's against KU and Baylor. If they can find away to win in Lawrence (very very tough), that would be huge. Need to make sure they don't let up at OU tonight like did in the loss to Oklahoma State. How good did Robinson for KU look....he was a beast.
  10. Mine would be to catch more smallmouth on a fly rod and catch more big brown's. Picked up a 7 weight over the weekend to chuck the bigger bugs.
  11. Well sure...My point is it is not a party dividing type issue like taxes or healthcare. The guy proposing the bill is an idiot because he is an idiot...not because he is a rebublican. Well maybe....actually all policticians are idiots.
  12. It just had to go political....ugh I sent my email too.
  13. Big pick up for Mizzou today. Offense should be fine. Still need to get a bit bigger on defense, but an exciting time to be a Mizzou fan for sure.
  14. For cool cloudy weather I would throw BW0's in 22 or 24. Might bring some streamers as well it if is cloudy. Fished it last weekend and the fishing was really tought for everyone, but plenty of fishin the stream. They appeared to be taking midges last weekend that were very very small.
  15. I agree I think the Lunker board is kinda silly, as it is mostly about acknowledement and accolades and I kinda laugh when I see a 2lb fish is considered a lunker. I don't ever pay much attention to them, but they do seem popular to some. Why not have a C/R lunker boad as well? Maybe if enough people new saw some pictures of big ones that are being released it might encourage them to release in the future. Maybe make the C/R lunker board really nice and big with big print and the other board small print in the corner so it is hard to see.
  16. the way I see it there are two possible outcomes. Either Chief's was in the wrong or Prater was harrasing him. If it was me I would see if I could charge Prater for harrasment based on the case law. You might not win, but I bet you might hit Prater in the pocket book a bit. So instead of challenging the law directly you are forcing Prater to defend himself which might cost you less money, cost him some, and you get a chance to address the navigable stream issues. No idea if that is is possible, but just a thought...
  17. Looks like your getting out and haveing a great time....can't beat that. Congrats on your first fish and it only gets better as you go!
  18. Are there still 12-18lb fish in the parks being reported the last several years? I might need to get me some better sunglasses. It just seems like such a no brainer to have a higher limit at the Current.
  19. I would be good with that too, but doubtful we can get that changed. I agree OTF the area upstream from the darn is nice really and the area I usually fish when in the park. During low water the area by the darn moves so sloooow. I think I fell alseep once waiting for my fly to finish it's 25 minute drift. I would think the bait fisherman would prefer the slower water, but maybe I am wrong. Either way it won't happen, but it is nice to think about.
  20. Absolutely, It seems silly to let someone harvest 4 brown at 15 inches in the park when the potential for growth is so much more and the blue ribbon stretch is 1 over 18...it is almost mind boogling. Another option would be to switch the zones and move the fly only area to the current bait area and move the bait area to the old fly area. If the bait area didn't run right into the blue ribbon stretch more brown's would survive as I am sure some anglers would release and the regulations wouldn't need to change. Plus I like the water actually moving. The slow water by the dam drives me nuts and get's quite boring IMO...would be good bait water as oppossed to the faster water downstream.
  21. Ugh.... I am game for the regulations you proposed. Will never happen though. Release the brown's and eat the rainbows.
  22. Just be happy you only have probabtion. I have to wear a monitoring device on my ankle and scrub the bathroom with a toothbrush. And I didn't listen to the podcast either...
  23. Pretty sure it is what Gavin said. Different materials but the look of a larger version of a crackleback IMO. I believe they are tied on a size 8 or 10 hook.
  24. Three topics on didymo and felt and three posts about the podcast. It is not like he was just posting at random. A bit much maybe cause they all got bumped to the top, but not really not spam in my book. One would think whoever posted in those threads might be interested in learning a bit more. And if you posted the same opinion's on Didymo in those 3 thread's three different times would that make you a spammer? I agree on the Mayo and a bit of mustard with a kick
  25. Joe D and Al I couldn't agree more. I love watching them play!
