  1. Mine is still on the yellow paper. I like them as is, but sounds like a change is coming depending on how you purchase them.
  2. Nice report and great pics!
  3. I fished it last weekend when it was about 6 inches lower and it was about perfect...only one spot that was difficult wading. You should be fine whether you choose to wade or float just be watchful so to speak. Lot's of split shot will be necessary and it will be hard to spot fish. There were ton's of people at Tan Vat last weekend so hopefully you have less crowds than we did if you fish that portion. The park fished pretty good last weekend so that is alwasy an option...the higher water made them less spooky. Good luck.
  4. I am now using Orvis Mirage and it is great. I don't know if I just bought a couple of bad spools of RIO, but the difference has been night and day for me.
  5. I have not heard good things about Creve Coeur Lake for bass fishing. I am not sure about the other species. Forest Park and Carondelet are pretty good for bass and bluegill. There are nice bass in the Fountain Lakes off of 370, but they are a challenge. I spend most of my warm water fishing at Busch. It can be challenging, but there are some nice fish in those lakes.
  6. I got my tickets so we are all set. I am certainly looking forward to it! Hope we have good turnout as well.
  7. I like the way you think.
  8. ha! That is kind of why I am taking her...kind of a little test shall we say.
  9. I already spend way to much time day dreaming so that will be par for the couse. My girlfriend wants to come along some maybe she will get excited and I can convince her an exotic fishing trip is just what we need for a summer vacation. Ok that won't happen, but it would be nice!
  10. That is great to hear. I going to give it a try...looks like it should be a great time.
  11. Anyone ever been to this? Is it any good? It looks interesting.
  12. Congrat on a great day! I too had a great day on Saturday fishing both the river and then the park in the afternoon. I had about a 40 fish day. I was telling my buddy that I caught fish on every fly that I tied on. I don't think that has ever happenned to me before. I caught a ton of of fish on a #16 hare's ear in the river. Then swtiched up and was catching them on various midges, scuds, #18 adams, #18 caddis, prince nymph's, san juan, and even the fetal emerger. The water was up, but i agree it helped out the fishing...in fact I thought the color was about perfect. Tough for site fishing, but made the fish less spooky. I managed to catch a few on dries which is always a bonus. Covered a lot of terriotry too from the wire to Tan Vat and then the C/R area, the lake, and spring down to the dam. The biggest fish I landed was 17, but it was a great day with nice weater.
  13. Sounds like an awesome day! Congrats! Heading down tomorrow...hopefully I can fool a few.
  14. I signed the petition as well.
  15. I get the different view points, but if you believe in something then you do need to speak up. In the end it may not change anything and you may not feel as if you have been heard, but there is a chance you might. If you keep silent you have zero chance to influence change.
  16. Sure they could be good in 2013...they are going to sign Pujols. In the meantime I have a standing bet of $50 each year with a buddy that the Royals will not make the playoffs. Easiest money I have ever made. Seriously the farm system is deep, but they will need to find a away to either have the young talent mature at the same time or spend some money to keep them when the time comes. They have had talent before in the minors, but it didn't transition to much.
  17. I agree with this.
  18. I like golf, but everytime I play I find myself at the ponds edge looking for my golf ball and wondering what might be swimming beneath.
  19. very nice!
  20. If it is the pond I am thinking off it may be surrounded by some white sand...at least it was a couple summers ago when they opened it. Don't set your reel down in that stuff...it can make for a bad day.
  21. Yep pretty standard procedure, and like Mic said you won't cath me up there. With the water up, those boys would be in for a nice ride with one wrong step.
  22. Had a friend pull a body out of Montauk a couple years ago. He was fishing saw a vest, hat, etc and the body. Pulled him out, but it was too late. It was an older man in 80's that had a heart attack while fishing. He had waited with the police for the guys wife to show up ID the body etc. Bodies have turned up a Busch a few times in the lakes and in the woods. There is reason whey they have a gate up for lakes 31 and 32...you used to be able to drive back (that is my understanding), but a couple hunters fond a missing body in the woods.
  23. There are a few fish in Jefferson Lake...even an occasional nice bass or two. Mostly a catfish (summer) and trout (winter) lake. Never seen a Coyote, but it wouldn't surprise me...hear a bunch of rumors of giant rats that run around the lake at night. Probably an urban legend but not gonna go and find out for myself. Seems like there is a lot more water that could be used for fishing purposes.
  24. They must have added that link sometime today...when I checked earlier I found the new page, but not the link. Water looks up and dirty, but fishable.
