  1. Today I took advantage of the warm weather and fished the 11 point. I launched at the narrows with my trusty jon boat and 9.9 and started my way upstream. I made it a few hundred yards before having to get out and drag the boat up a shoal. I had to drag up three shoals before I was able to get to my destination, morgan spring camp. It was worth the trouble, as I caught all of my fish in that stretch of river. 10 fish total, 3 largemouth, 4 brownies, and 3 pickerel(including my new PB 19"). It was a very peaceful trip.
  2. so was he not fined?
  3. I caught this beauty today on the 11 point. Biggest pickerel I have ever caught 19"
  4. I went out on the eleven point today and did pretty good. Fished from 8-12, caught 10 fish the highlight being a 19" chain pickerel and a nice thick 16" smallie.
  5. I was gonna say he could have came and got drunk with us sat. night.
  6. You can take a canoe quite a ways up, but IMO the fishing wouldn't worth the trouble. FWIW, those isolated holes do have fish in them, I caught 10 fish in one that was about 30yds long and 10yds wide.
  7. This summer I wanted to try it out so I walked up from the 101 bridge. I walked a mile and a half. It was not worth the walk. I caught some fish but nothing great. However I have seen pictures of 6-7lb largemouth's from that area.
  8. That video is in a wet weather swamp outside jacksonville tx. The park borders the neches river and they strictly enforce a no riding policy in the river. The other video was shot in marshall tx at a hunting club that isn't on a river but it has a creek that is geologically impossible to ride in. River rats is near the sabine river.
  9. That video was shot on private land and not on any flowing stream. It is a slough in marshall tx.
  10. $20 shipped?
  11. There actually is no 101 access. the only place below the slab is the lower access.
  12. timing is critical. If the water is too high it will be stained and muddy. If too low lots of dragging. Let me know when you want to go, I am down.
  13. I had waded a portion and with flows of 120cfs there is no water going the whole length of cc. I would expect 300 cfs or better would be required. I want to do that float this spring possibly. Right where you launch there is a nice long hole.
  14. our heating bill is cheap(wood heat) and our cooling bill is cheap as well(attic fan). I am just ready for some fishing.
  15. right now if you wanted to put in or get out at the bridge at georges creek you will be carrying your canoe 150 yards on dry ground.
  16. What about a kayak or solo canoe and one of those wheeled dollies? Then you would only have to carry half the weight.
  17. all we have been talking about for months at work is spring. If it is here tomorrow it isnt soon enough.
  18. The closest is ranchette. It is even on the same side of the river as you. Beware though that you WILL be carrying your canoe/kayak if you intent to float right now.
  19. I will get my phone out on the river to save waypoints of where some big fish are.
  20. I am hoping for a shad kill but if they arent running generators it will not happen. I fish from a boat.
  21. I have been considering getting one or two from the BPS return store in thayer but I have been leery of how the warranty works.
  22. I carry mine everywhere I go, but the only place that I get any service is CC.
  23. I feel for you zack. I havent ever even seen that much snow.
  24. I use 1/8 oz zigjigs exclusively. Fishing the lighter jigs makes the fall rate too slow for me.
  25. that sucks. surely they will tell you if they widen the road right into your front door.
