x2.
I flat despise the shows there, the only show that was cool was kirby van birch(illusionist). We went with some friends. I love playing put-put golf...thats about it.
last year on labor day my wife and I floated crooked creek from georges creek to the slab and didn't see a single person. It was awesome. Caught two fish over 18" and bunches of smaller fish.
I bought a fly rod/reel from Cabelas a couple weeks ago and this evening was the first chance I have had to try it out. I took it to one of our ponds and tied a mosquito fly on and caught this on my first cast:
its tiny but it was fun. That is a florida strain largemouth bass. Same pond produced a 8lb bass for me this spring on a wacky rigged yum dinger.
There is nothing wrong with legally keeping fish. I choose not to keep smallmouth because they are not stocked, they are native. Goggleye are native too but they grow much faster than smallies.
That sounds like my house!
Within 1hr drive I have Crooked creek, buffalo, a dozen access points on the white, spring, southfork, and eleven point rivers.
plans have changed. the buffalo is rising as is the white(they will be generating heavy tonight and all day tomorrow). I am going to take the riverboat up.
why cant they electrofish for them and sell the fish to canneries or something? They may not eradicate the fish but it should help control the numbers.
I have oars on the pontoon that I will be using in addition to the trolling motor. the model we bought is a trout unlimited 9'x5' with vinyl bottomed pontoons. The only reason I am considering doing this is because the white is not running any units and the current is quite slow. My parents know the owners of riley station so I may call them and see what they think.
pic related, its the model pontoon I have.
Last week my wife and I bought a nice one man pontoon with a motor mount. I want to launch at Buffalo city and go downstream to the Buffalo(250yds) and paddle/motor up the Buffalo. The issue is when I go to leave. I think the 40lb thrust minn-kota will push the small craft upstream easily. In fact I think it will push it upstream great since it pushed my Riverboat(18x36 aluminum) upstream pretty good Monday afternoon with two people.the pontoon obviously weighs less but the hydrodynamic of the pontoon may create more drag. What say you?
