  1. bingo. for $700 thats all that matters to me. After I do some testing on my boat it will probably be for sale. I am trying to decide if I can get by with a 25hp prop motor or if I need(want) a 40hp. When I decide I think I will be buying a new motor.
  2. Did you get asking price?
  3. I could see having issues finding parts for a 25 to 30yr old outboard as being normal. FWIW, boats.net has rings in stock. if they say they have it in stock then they actually have it. Regardless I wont have this outboard long enough to need anything like that.
  4. oh ok. boats.net still lists parts as available so I should be good on maintenance stuff at least.
  5. Sounds like you knew them! This picture does not do it justice. there was about 18 dogs running around, and trash everywhere.
  6. You tried everything? Did you try....a wiggle wart???🤪
  7. the carvana thing is convenience, your definitely paying more than you would at a stealership.
  8. whats wrong with the precision blend models?? Thats a pretty big year range
  9. blast from the past!! That was a good float, we caught tons of fish that day. I wonder if this guy is still in jail....
  10. Thanks, I ended up buying one off FB in mountain grove. mid 90s yamaha electric start 25. actual "barn find" still has the original prop and I think original spark plugs.
  11. That merc a long shaft? electric start? price? might be interested in a 30 or 40 if you got one thanks @fshndoug but I need at least a 25.
  12. To each their own. I use a agm starting battery in my boat. weighs about 30lb(ytx30 size). it has no trouble starting up to a 4 cylinder outboard.
  13. I got you back down in the marsh 🤣
  14. Yes. Lithium batteries can do both at once.
  15. prefer yamaha, but open to most brands.
  16. slick boat, should be an easy sale
  17. it happened on the way back to the ramp, about half a mile from buffalo city. I saw smoke coming from under the deck and I kept the hammer down until we got back to the ramp. My issue was actually not common. if you buy a battery with LiFePo cells(lithium iron phosphate) that becomes a non-issue. They are not as energy dense as LiPo batteries but are far safer.
  18. mine internally shorted so it did the same thing.
  19. absolutely. When it comes to obstructions in the water when drifting I am hyper vigilant. Everyone should be.
  20. that sounded like a rough trip. The downside to the tunnel is you give up some speed and the boat does not float as high in the water, but I am pretty sure my pods make up for that.
  21. my first lithium battery had an internal short and had a meltdown. It was pretty bad. the seller assured me that they have not had many issues with them so I let them warranty it out and so far so good. Keep in mind that the battery that failed used LiPo cells, and the batteries @Bill Babler purchased are LiFePo which are exponentially safer.
  22. I will take luck any day!
  23. There are no issues with lithium cranking batteries as long as they are DESIGNED for cranking. The BMS on a deep cycle would shut off for safety before allowing the amp draw a cranking battery has. My rzr 800 has had a LiPo cranking battery in it since last summer. It works great.
  24. I am running a 36v ulterra on my riverboat and built a LiFePo(lithium iron phosphate) battery for it. fully charged its at 40.8v with no issues. I did find out the hard way that the low voltage shutoff was 25.6všŸ˜—
  25. The only thing I could see is less cavitation. I did it because I was bored and I have a lathe and tooling 🤣 Next time I highly suggest getting a stainless impeller. So far with the tunnel I have had no rocks get in my grates so it might be possible for me to run with none, but I am too chicken.
