duckydoty Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 We are starting to loose alot of trees over here in Branson West. Still have power as of now. Had to turn the heat pump off and dump hot water on it to thaw out the fan blades because they were getting froze up and way off balance. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! bclift65706 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 we dident get mutch freezing rain but about 3 in of sleet here in Marshfield. I hate it for everyone geting the stuff bringing down trees and powerlines we got that in 2007 and people was out of power for 14 days or more. Then month after month of cleaning up and lots of money that no one has anymore. Wish the best of luck to everyone.
patfish Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Lost a big cedar in the front of the house...no great loss, but I like to take them down on my terms. There is a tree down across the road from the house blocking my road. I don't have a big chainsaw so I called the County. In the meantime a 4wd pick up tried to go around it, right on my front property and caused big ruts, got stuck and backed out. Its a good thing I didn't get out to him before he got away. Some people....Dano Dano, don't you have a scope? just kiddin... and glad I'm one of only 2 houses on my dead end street.
TroutBum4wt Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 No tree loss yet in my yard. Still have power in Reeds Spring, 6:21 p.m., and all is well, so far. "Where There Are Trout, There's Hope" - John Gierach

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 28, 2009 Root Admin Posted January 28, 2009 Lost our upper dock- collapsed. Going out for round 3- trying to get the ice off the rest of the dock. Fun Fun
denjac Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 4 or 5 salamanders would help knock the ice off the roof, but where would a guy get them Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 28, 2009 Root Admin Posted January 28, 2009 We got what we could. Shouldn't be any more damage. The temp is dropping like a rock and it's quite raining/sleeting/iceing/snowing. But I've heard a couple of big limbs fall on the neighbor's place and a tree fall on the bluff across the lake. I hope that's not a sign of things to come tonight.
