Members knuck Posted March 1, 2009 Members Posted March 1, 2009 Is it more is always better or how big is too big! As for my own selfish interests it would be great to see more info. regarding fisheries surrounding St Louis, but if you include us what about every other city within a 250 mile radius of Branson. It sounds good to me Phil I just hope you know what your in for, sounds like your going nationwide. Steve in STL
Thom Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Quote "Personally, I think the forum covers way too many specific places. I tend to not read stuff on locations where I don't and don't plan to go. I'd rather have a lot fewer locations and see more topic posts. " I don't understand this logic. When I go to the forum I just bypass all of the stuff that I am not interested in. Like a cafeteria. I just open the stuff that is interesting to me and respect the others who have different tastes. It is very simple to go to the particulair place that is interesting to you a the opening menu. Tany, white, Loz, geek etc and pass everthing else up. I never pick black eyed peas up at the cafeteria but the dollars (in this case Hits on the site) earned by the black eyed peas helps pay for the qualilty and variety of all the other offerings If the admin eliminates anything I would hope it is the political hype. We alway know what the opinions of those who post them will be anyway. Very closed minded and with lots of heat and little light. Yea.... I iknow that includes me with the politics which I always tell myself I will ignore but usually can't resist.. Thom Harvengt
Zack Hoyt Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 I am afraid too many different sections would be bad. I like having area specific, but maybe just that, areas, not specific creeks streams. Search is a great tool and I use it constantly to search for specifics. I am honestly extremely happy with the forum the way it is. Zack Hoyt OAF Contributor Flies, Lies, and Other Diversions

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 2, 2009 Author Root Admin Posted March 2, 2009 I LOVE blackeyed peas!!!!!!!
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 2, 2009 Author Root Admin Posted March 2, 2009 It's pretty big now... much bigger than I ever imagine. I've done some trimming today. Consolidating. It's so big you can't tell. I like dividing into states. I've already made a list of what I have. I like the idea of adding smaller waters around urban areas. We have alot of members from the St Louis and Kansas City areas. I want to fill niches. If there's forums and websites already doing the job, doing a good job, then there's no need for us to expand. Some people like the "controls" we put on OA and cut out the groupies and attitudes. Again, if there's a need, then we'll go there.
ozark trout fisher Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Wanted to throw this out... I know this site is called OzarkAnglers (.com) but all the "waters" on the forum are not in the Ozarks. We've crossed the borders a bit to cover lakes and rivers of interest. We have also created "community forums" to share more ideas than just fishing. All is good. But with the following OA has and possibly that lack of coverage on other "waters of interest", I waned to explore the idea of expanding to other Midwest areas. For example lakes in east and mid Oklahoma, east Kansas, mid Arkansas, north Missouri and west Illinois. With this possible expansion, I may consolidate some of the forums we have on OA and eliminate some that aren't being used (not water related). It's not a matter of the forum getting too big- I don't think that's possible. It might need alittle tweaking, that's all. Spring is the time to jump on change. It's the time anglers are looking for good information on the lakes and rivers they want to fish. All comments and thoughts are welcome! Thanks- Phil That's an amazing idea. It would allow such waters as Mark Twain, Thomas Hill, and the Missouri River to be covered. But only if you want to. This is already the best forum by far I am a member of.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 2, 2009 Author Root Admin Posted March 2, 2009 How would the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers be covered best? Suggestions?
patfish Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 How would the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers be covered best? Suggestions? I'm no expert, but probably in a boat.
