Members brianetz1 Posted April 27, 2009 Members Posted April 27, 2009 I am heading down to the camdenton area to do some fishing this weekend. Anyone have any success in that area recently? Mainly looking to fish bass.....maybe crappie if bass aren't hitting at all.

fishinwrench Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Starting to see bass on beds, in the little protected sub-coves. (no longboats around those spots) Pitch a tube or lizard at them and you should get some action. If you are opposed to sight-fishing bedding bass you can drag carolina rigs, or pitch jigs to shallow docks and brush. It's almost hard to NOT catch bass right now. Crappie are beginning to scatter, they should be on the beds full force by the time this front passes.

I am worried that the rain will slow things down for this weekend.......not sure though. i have no problem sight fishing beds, only get to go fishing away from the STL area a couple times a year and just want to catch fish.

Wrench is right on, plastics right now are the deal, shade is key to around docks with pea gravel!
