Al Agnew Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 My first float trip on Big River was at age 7 or so, so that's about 50 years of fishing that river every year. Next longest stretch of fishing would probably be the Meramec River, about 35 years.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 My first trip to Bennett was in my mom's stomach and we camped. Been going there ever since. I'm 48. My dad wouldn't take me to The White and Norfork till I was ten. He said I was too small to wade some of the areas he liked to fish. So 38 years there. Been going to Taney about the same as bennett. Gavin Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 I'm 43, and my dad taught me to fish on the Mineral Fork, Huzzah, and Courtois. Its been at least 35 years, and I still fish those streams....Started floating at 7-8 and we'd float the Meramec, and the Black...Still float the Meramec often, but I havent been on the Black in a long time. Dad introduced me to trout at 9-10...We fished Meramec Springs till we discovered Montauk, the Current River, N. Fork of the White, and the Arkansas Tailwaters...I still have a love affair for the Current, and NFoW...but I dont do trout parks or the Ozark Tailwaters anymore. Cheers.
FishinCricket Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Have fished the Niangua for my entire adult life and then some... cricket.c21.com
cwc87 Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Fished the Huzzah Courtois Meramec the most for at least 35 years. It started with grandma taking me and using minnows and a cousin that took me in a jon boat on the meramec around steelville. Learned all my fishing tricks in the gin clear Huzzah and sometimes that involved getting a mask and exploring where the smallies lived. O I almost forgot Mr. Agnew sure did mentor me alot while whoopin my butt every trip out of the back of his canoe. Thanks AL!!!!!!
KCRIVERRAT Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Jacks Fork since I was 17 years old. 50 years old now and still love that river. Especially before Memorial and after Labor Day of course. Two of my 4lb. smallmouth have come out of it. Only other 4 pounder came out of the upper North Fork. I'd guess I've missed the Jacks Fork maybe 6 or 7 times over the last 33 years. They're all beautiful in our great Show-Me-State my fellow anglers! HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
Paola Cat Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Areas I've fished the longest: BSSP and the Niangua for 35+ years. MSP and the Current for around 30 years. RRSP for about 30 years. Taney on and off for about 25 years. Flat Creek for about 25 years. Stockton Lake for about 25 years. PC Cheers. PC
Members CS Huntley Posted November 10, 2009 Members Posted November 10, 2009 BSSP and the Niangua for 18 years now. I started chunking dough bait in Zone 3 at age 11 and eventually progressed and moved up towards the head of the spring. A little longer (maybe a couple of years) below the spillway at Pomme De Terre. I couldn't see over the fence when I started but man did my dad and his brothers pull some monster catfish out of there back then.
rps Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Fished Bull Shoals with Dad from a canvas boat in the 50's. Used a green box Lowrance on BS and TR in the early 60's. Fished Eucha and Spavinaw in the same time frame. Started fishing the White, below BS, in 78 or 79. Somewhere in there, I became addicted. Does this count?
Brian K. Shaffer Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 A canvas boat ? Really? Is it still around to this day ? goodness... Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
