HA! yeah the co-angler side would be fun, I really think that you could throw a jerkbait all day and make the top ten. It should be won the same way as last year when Gagliardi one it.

Is this the tournament operation that releases their weigh-in fish by shooting them down a water slide into the local cove ?

I recall some previous posts a couple of years ago about a group that released ( ? ) their fish like this behind Ahoy's in Kimberling but cannot find it. Anyone ? Thanks.

I wouldn't think the FLW. Usually the larger tournament operations have a pontoon boat, equipped with tanks filled with water, and oxygen tanks on board to oxygenate the water in the tanks for the fish. Then they take the fish somewhere out in the lake and release them. (But I could be wrong)

I've seen smaller tourneys use the water slide system though.

I think you are right Moto... I am pretty sure FLW uses a release boat. We may be wrong, but I don't think so.

Last time I fished FLW (at the BFL level) they used a release boat.

I worked it last time they were here. They do use a release boat (pontoon) that has two huge ariated tanks. I believe they use stress reducers in thier tanks and they work with the floters that have the bends. They release them in the lake and they put a metal basket over them that is open at the bottom and attached to a rope. They let it drop down slowly, when they see bubles come the fish is ready to go and lift the basket up. Better than poking a hole in them with a needle with more chance of them getting an infection. Thier mortality rate is actually quite low. If I am not mistaken I think it is lower than BASS.

Good to hear they use a release boat and do so carefully. I recalled several posts about that "water slide" thingy and several members were not too happy about it's use. With all the incredible tournament pressure on this fishery, a lot of bass TLC is needed at the weigh-ins and releases.
