Forsythian Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 There's a post in the general discussion thread that the Corps is going to run 20,000 cfs out of Bull Shoals 24 hours a day, hoping to reach pool sometime in mid January. Thanks to Don Allenbaugh for the good news. Cenosillicaphobiac
Don Allenbaugh Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 That 20,000 is through the generators they also have ((according to my neighbor) 2 flood gates open. The river is at the third highest point I have seen at my place. The first being the back up of Buffalo and Crooked Creek (no generation) and the 2nd being with 7 generators and all of the flood gates open about 6 inches (I think). Don A
Ham Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 My understanding is that the flood gates are also somewhat opne on Norfork letting an additional 4700 CFS of water added to what is reported fron the generators. Right now that is about 10,800 CFS on the Norfork which is WAY more water than I want to try to fish. Does anyone have any hint about the amount of CFS I need to add to the reported CFS to get a true idea of the actual CFS running down the White. I've caught fish at 19000 CFS, but that much requires the boat operator to be very careful ie I can't run the boat and fish at the same time. I'm not sure I want to be on the White if the CFS is > 25K. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
taxidermist Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 Todays report is 17 flood gates opens and 7 generoators on line for a total of about 9 generators worth of water.. Batesville reports 90,000 cubic feet persecond over the dam at lock one. the gravel barge at Batesville also went over the dam breaking into several pieces.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 The graph shows it's all shut down. http://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/WCDS/plots/WEB/bul.htm SIO3
Dutch Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 How is the draw down on Beaver Lake going to play into this equation?
