S&M Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I’ve fished the Rock last week and again this week, and will be going out again tomorrow. I’ve ran into, and meet several FLW anglers. All have been great to converse with. I was fishing at the mouth of a cove adjacent to a bluff end when an FLW boat pulled up on the end of the bluff wall. I caught two fat keeper Kentucky’s which prompted the FLW angler to inch his way closer to me. As he got within talking distance so I wouldn’t have to yell, I called him over and told him that the mouth of this cove was red hot and has been for the last week. He looked shocked that I offered this information. I told him to troll around and check out what’s under the water with his electronics. I told him I was going to move on and to enjoy the spot if he so desired to fish it. I fired up the big motor and headed across the lake to fish a point. As I fished the point I kept an eye on the FLW angler to see him catch a fish, then fire up his big motor and move on. The next morning I saw that same FLW angler fishing the mouth of the cove I relinquished to him. I hope he does fish it during the tournament and does well. This particular cove has been holding shad and bass since Dec of 09. Earlier in the year of 09 this cove wasn’t holding squat. I enjoy seeing the FLW and BASS guys fishing Table Rock. I hope they schedule more FLW and BASS tournaments on the Rock. Great stuff happening right here in our own back yards. How do I deal with those who ignore the 50 yard encroachment rule?......I show them just how accurate I am with a crank bait!
ness Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 The only thing in this equation that you can control is... you-- how you react, how you judge, how you live your life. Give mercy and it will be returned. Think the best of all people and be wise in your dealings. Words to live by right there. Great post Phil. John
exiledguide Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Why is it that the so called pros don't seem to be required to follow the same rules the rest of us do? I got fed up with Pro tournaments a few years ago when a "Pro' on Lake Ouchata weighed in a slot fish and nothing was done by any law enforcement. If any of us had that fish on our striger or in the live well it would have cost us money and a loss of fishing privlages for a while. The excuse was he didn't know the regulations! I will bet if that would happen this weekend the same thing would happen. I was fishing long before there was a Bassmaster or FLW or the products that sponser them but we had ethics and manners something that seems to be missing on the water today.

Mouth of Aunts Creek, 100 yds. south of the last dock on the west side about 25' deep. Used a 55 gallon drum full of concrete, should still be there. BTW, anyone know how the take this wrap off of this boat so I can sell it.....
