Donna G Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 That is the down side to a female partner....they don't have rest rooms at weigh out and you aren't supposed to leave the boat...any input here Donna? Take it from a gal who has tried it all, ain't nothing beats a poncho and a coffee can. Even when I fished WBT a lot of the anglers used that rig. Forget the Little J. Tried it, didn't like. The Bassroom? Honestly, what do you think Champ188 would do if I inflated that puppy and covered half the boat for a quick nature call? Granted he doesn't move like Ike, but he still needs a little room to dance when making a mighty hookset. Here's how I have customized Donna's Port-a-potty in a pouch (for you shy fellas, you can stop reading now). Get a plastic poncho, preferably in a dark color. Don't want that thing waving like a distress flag - definitely no orange, yellow or red. Cut the hood out and splice the neck open a little larger, if needed. Duct tape comes in all colors, of course. Duct tape up the sides to preserve privacy in the wind. Speaking of wind, after the 20-30 mph on Beaver yesterday I'm going back to a heavier PVC-style poncho. The lighter one stows easier, but can catch the wind like a main sail. Folgers large plastic coffee can with built-in handle, the required paper products and your beautiful poncho - good to go. Since I fish the pro-am tournaments I need something I can stash that doesn't take up all my necessary tackle room. I know a few of the gals in various circuits eschew modesty, but I'm a married lady and I don't care for the idea. Besides remember that 20-30 mph wind I was talking about? Think about it. lol I do prefer someplace less populated than Party Cove, even with the poncho rig. However, if necessary I can pull out my tent anywhere. It's not like a passing angler won't know what I'm doing (honestly you think women believe you are checking out your transom savers so intently?), but at least a little modesty is preserved. There you have it. Glad you asked, huh? P.S. Did have a pro ask me one time what I did with the, uh, 'output'. I replied to his question with one of my own. "Where do you put your, uh, output? Mine goes the same place. Just takes a short detour first." Members Ann Posted March 30, 2010 Members Posted March 30, 2010 Donna, Thanks for the tip. I was wondering what I should do. I know we couldn't go ashore everytime I needed to relieve myself. Again, thank you. Ann
Members Catchabiggen Posted March 30, 2010 Members Posted March 30, 2010 Reelhawk had called to tell me he had been killing the bass in the backs of coves and invited me to the cove he was in. In one hour of fishing in his cove, my partner and I had 3 keepers, including these two 3lb 10 oz bass. We did not fish longer because we needed to head back to Iowa. Who would have guessed the fish would be that active in the back of coves with 46 degree water. This cove had shad all over the place, but the difference between this cove and other coves with shad was that this one did not have any dying shad on the surface. Don't know if that mattered or not, just thought I would throw that out there. Thanks for inviting us over Reelhawk. The bass already ate them all and were still hungry lol

Ann I think most tournament rules state: no leaving the boat except in the case of emergency. I would think that could be interpeted to mean using the bathroom. techo Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 We have had some interesting (can't think of a better word) topics on here! My mrs usually just doesnt drink or have "output." I seldom have output during a tournament as I am busy. Thanks for the tips though. I will mention it to her and see what she says. On non-tourney days we are never far from somewhere...Cape Fair, Cow Creek, Mill Creek, Aunt's Creek, Joe Bald and so on. I guess worse case scenario is we get disqualified for giving a poop! Err pee in this case. Tim Carpenter
Champ188 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 In my opinion, any tournament director who'd disqualify you for a potty break or any fellow competitor would protest you for it is a chicken bleep anyway. Just my 2 cents.

Ann You're welcome. Definitely an easier solution when we're past the winter wardrobe, but still workable year-round. I don't like taking time out from fishing to hunt an appropriate spot on terra firma, plus it's a hassle. This solution may not be for everyone, but it works well for me. Nothing wrong with your portapotty Idea there Mizz Donna. I wouldn't go to LOZ without mine I got from being in hospital last time LOL!\ ZZ
dtrs5kprs Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 If you don't have fish in the livewell, or don't intend to, well... Just about as close as you will find to a modern facility in most bass rigs.
Donna G Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Nothing wrong with your portapotty Idea there Mizz Donna. I wouldn't go to LOZ without mine I got from being in hospital last time LOL!\ ZZ Oh, yes, better be prepared at LOZ. One of the CPAA anglers got a ticket last year for peeing in public or some such on the water. Champ188 knows the details better than me, but you can be sure the poor fella has been teased without mercy.
