Chief Grey Bear Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Yeah. Even if it didn't stop all of the oil, it should at the least stop 90 + % of it. What could it hurt. Uh oh. My phone is ringing. Uh, I'll get back to you, its BP. drew03cmc Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Guys, obviously, this is a big deal. I have no idea how to stop the leak and obviously the "braintrust" at BP doesn't either. Let's not make light of this, but the Ozarks is miles of waterway removed from this issue. If and when a storm blows this inland, then we can worry about it. Andy

ozark trout fisher Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 It sounds like they are having a bit more success... They are capturing 50-80% of the oil. I still hope the bastards that run BP are put out of business , after they pay to fix the leak, clean up the oil, and pay restitution to the folks who depend on the Gulf for their pay check. I say every penny the big wigs of BP ever earned should be summarily taken away from them and given to the public fund to solve this problem, not to be radical about it or anything. And if we didn't already know that we need to work harder on alternative energy, we know now.

crappiefisherman Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Can anyone tell me what kind off pressure is needed to expell thousands of gallons of oil from the ground with the incredible pressures from the ocean at 5000 feet???This well must be an astonishing find.Bp is not going to give up on this one, ever.Im sure im not the only one who thinks those videos of the oil leak look like those black smoker springs you see on the discovery channel. You cant tell by those videos if its a large leak or not, must be extremely massive.I hope they get it handled but only so much can be done, and whos to say when the clean up will be done? When BP runs out of money or when they pay the lawyers , who are gonna retire on this one [ [
Kayser Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 JD- this isn't Soviet Russia, and we don't have Stalin to OK it for us. Yes, it has been done before, yes, it worked, and no, it's not an option this time. Unless you want 3-eyed tuna... WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk.
