Daveinozark Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 yep I've been looking for a small creek to set up some nets and kill anything I catch. Then, thanks to this forum, I'll move on to the next one until I have all the fish!!!!

But if you guys don't think broadcasting the names of smalls streams and creeks can potentially create a problem...well, I'll just quote Demosthenes: "A man is his own easiest dupe, for what he wishes to be true, he generally believes to be true."

exiledguide Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 t was really a secret spring hole on the Mississippi. Or River Des Peres. You are busted Agnew, as a 40 year member of the River Des Peres Yacht Club and 35 Year Member of The River Des Peres bassbusters we do not take kindly to folks giving away our secret fishing hole. At our next meeting you can be sure rude things will be said about you and you will be band for at least a long time from using any of our facilities on the stream or in our harbor. We also want it known that those smallmoth pictures were actualy Nat Lead slough carps caught at the "secret spring hole" and be forewarned that the SSH canoe club do not take kindly etc
flytyer57 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Next time I'm down that way I'll definitely spend some time there and hopefully bring home a nice cooler full of smallie fillets. Dramatization No you won't and you know it. I'll bet the last time you kept a smallie was when you were a youngster and you cried so hard your grandad let you keep one. Remember, smallmouth taste like sewage. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

A buddy and I spent our last scraps of money on a tank of gas and a dime bag, and we headed to a creek. We were so hungry by the end of the day that we decided we'd either have to dine and dash or eat the 14 incher I was holding. We caught a largemouth to go with it and cooked them on a fire. They did not taste like sewage, but it was the last time I ate a smallmouth.
