Stockton Lake Guide Service Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 If you are into catching the white bass this time of year, go to where they usually surface. Over the past 2 weeks, the fishing has been excellent on cloudy days and early and late. Had 15 large fish this evening, and who knows how many thrown back. Throw rooster tails or something like that at them and you can really catch fish on just about every catch. It is an excellent time to take that kid or kids out fishing. It doesn't get much better than seeing a 5 year old catch a 2 lb white bass on a square bob underpants rod (or whatever his name is) The walleye, crappie and bass were all the same as the last report before the rain. Gonna go out tomorrow and give it a try so will let you know if anything changes. Trav Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Check your inbox for a pm from me. I sent you some details. Good luck PM? As cloak and dagger as you want...white bass are not very hard to find if they are there... No offense but it is the truth "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
kwall Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 look for shad clouds ,birds diving to eat them, fish smacking surface, get close as you can and cast anything that simulates bait fish.
Dutch Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Check the flats just north of Googer Creek, the flats by the bouy across from Rouark Campground or just west of the island at Masters.

You live in a cave or sumpin' ? What's the water temp on those WB flats now ? And what size are the shad their chasing ? We have a million schools of tiny 2" shad surfacing on LO now, the schools are bigger than my house and although they flush from time to time like something is after them, I can't get a single bite. Just too much bait I'm thinkin'.
Members clf989s Posted September 4, 2010 Members Posted September 4, 2010 So would Rouark Campground be the best bank access to WB??
straw hat Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Been seeing a lot of whites hit the schools of shad around CC the last two weeks. There has been a big increase in the number of people hitting that area for them also.
Stockton Lake Guide Service Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 PM? As cloak and dagger as you want...white bass are not very hard to find if they are there... No offense but it is the truth I will tell everyone, but I was giving him some other info and I simply wanted to keep it off the thread etc. If you would like a copy of what I sent I would send it to you. you are right, when they are surfacing they are pretty easy to catch, but he was taking his kid and wanted to make sure he understood where to go. Sorry, it seems that I'm pretty good at offending people the past 2 days. Guess i'm getting good at that!!!
