Billfo Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 You Bassboat guys are embarrasing me in my Lund..Slummen... LOL !!! Didn't make it to midnight as my stomach decided it wanted some Jill's BBQ around 7:30 so I decided 7 hours was enough today. Man they were biting when I first got there. I didn't post a report the other day but I got on some back of the creek fish...so I decided to follow up on that and found a good pod of them in the back of my first stop. The first 3 hours I was there I caught 13 with 7 keepers including 5 good keepers off 1 little secondary point WAY back there. After that flurry I just picked one off here in there with most of them being smallish but did catch a couple good brownies main lake as the sun was setting. For those who like to do it my last 2 trips I have caught 12 keepers off the very last secondary point in the backs of creeks...some good ones too. Caught everything today burning one of my blades and throwing a shallow crawdad crank. I don't have an orange sticker but I run a 2004 Triton TR 186 DC with the White/Black/Red color scheme...fish by myself a lot this time of year because my friends are hunters Email me Red-Right-Returning is for quitters !
TRRANGER Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 You Bassboat guys are embarrasing me in my Lund..Slummen... LOL !!! I dont know how you can leave a place like whats in that picture to come to Table Rock and fight all those pleasure boaters and jet skies. I think you have a fine lookin rig, its not what you fish outa its how fish outa it. TR
Sore Thumbs Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 That boat is awesome. Don't sweat the stigma of having to have a bass boat to fish for bass. Who ever thinks that way is narrow minded anyway. If it floats and goes you are good to go.
Members NuB2TR Posted October 9, 2010 Members Posted October 9, 2010 I have a Lund just like that, only a different color. Many folks at TR have commented on how "safe" the boat looks. Reading about the waves going over Bill B.'s front deck make me glad I got what I got.
rangerman Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Got rid of my 20 foot Champion for a 20 foot Ranger Fisherman....Its a whole lot more comfy on rough water.
Martin Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 My 20 foot Crestliner is like a Cadillac compared to any other boat I've owned. Capt Don House fishes from a big G3 walleye boat also.
getfished Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Got rid of my 20 foot Champion for a 20 foot Ranger Fisherman....Its a whole lot more comfy on rough water. Was it a Champion Fish hunter model or a bass boat? Your post comes off sounding like Rangers are more comfortable than Champions. To some folks they are. I was just wondering if you were comparing apples to apples. http://www.tacklespecialty.com/
rangerman Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Bass model......Had it until I found the light and started walleye fishing ALOT more. The 620VS Fisherman is a great boat, I know there are alot of different boats out there and everyone has their preferences but this thing is killer in large waters. Had it out in 5 and 6 footers up on Lake Oahe in SD, not really by choice. Boat held up a WHOLE LOT better than my back did. I have ridden in a big Crestliner up in SD as well and it was pretty impressive.
Members wallin Posted October 10, 2010 Members Posted October 10, 2010 Fished from Kimberling City where we stayed at Kimberling Inn, caught some fish, nothing to brag about but we had a family vacation and enjoyed great weather and good times and you just can't beat the Bearded Clam-just one of a kind-lmao.
