FishinCricket Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Dave Matthews Band I can't stomach. There is a lot of crap out there that people lap up. No appreciation for musical genius...? Sad, really.. cricket.c21.com
troutfiend1985 Posted November 5, 2010 Author Posted November 5, 2010 Are you a 'Roo TF??? Washburn. It was a choice between KU, SLU, and Washburn. Washburn ponied up a half ride + a bar pass rate in the 85-88% range and a top 20 nationally rated writing program. After that, it was just a choice of whether I would rather be in debt heavily, and would I rather have a less or more "formal" atmosphere. I think I made the right choice(by the way UMKC didn't accept me, still don't know why to this day). JDC are you in law school? Cricket you crack me up man with the rap comments, the white guy whose not Vanilla Ice. lol But for me, to really feel like I'm on a fishing trip, it's gotta be a Neil Young type musician, 1960's-70's folk type singer. Dylan is right up there, reminds me alot of the white river. I love alot of Marchall Tucker Band, and that is on the playlist frequently. Check out this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4-a8zh0m9c Someone put some time into that and I can't think of a better video for Marshall Tucker Band than this video. “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. Brian Jones Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 If I am by myself, it is usually Yanni, Kenny G or Cher. If I am with someone else, I generally don't listen to anything.
FishinCricket Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Cricket you crack me up man with the rap comments, the white guy whose not Vanilla Ice. lol I'm beginning to build an acute appreciation for Troufiend myself, though I must admit that, until recently, I was under the impression it was "troutfriend".. Not sure why that's relevant.. lol If I am by myself, it is usually Yanni, Kenny G or Cher. If I am with someone else, I generally don't listen to anything. Hmmm, you think the latter has anything to do with the former? lol Seriously though... Really? Cher as in "Mask Cher" or "Sonny and Cher"? cricket.c21.com
Smalliebigs Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 I'm with Cricket, I wake up with some Sabbath, Tool, Megadeath, mabey some ACDC. then I even out with some funk, some old parliment, get the funk out my face and lots of reggae, Peter Tosh, lots of Marley and some zydeco..I graduated from Tulane cajun crept in to my blood. I usually end the drive back with as much Hendrix, Floyd and Zeppelin as my ears can take. NO COUNTRY!!!!! sorry fellers
Outside Bend Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Just depends on the mood, really. Heading to the river, I usually do Buddy Guy, The Band, Canned Heat, Cake, The Decemberists, Flaming Lips, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Modest Mouse, Uncle Tupelo and a few other alt country type bands. Heading back from the river I'm usually more mellow and contemplative, and that's when I'll put on the Dylan, Neil, Doors, Pink Floyd, Clapton, etc. Lots of times there'll be some old Carlin material in that mix, too. <{{{><
