Members skeeterp Posted November 23, 2010 Members Posted November 23, 2010 whew, how do we get drama and fishing in the same thread. Hey, T I dont doubt you one bit, no reason to, its a fishing report nothing more or less. I would compare it to my partner and I fishing a topwater bait much more than most people because we have a lot of confidence in it. We'll read reports that the topwater bite isnt really on and we'll go catch 20 fish on it because we throw it all day. SB is your confidence bait and you probably stick with it a lot more than most folks and catch a lot of fish on it. Me and and my partner are thinking about fishing the winter series this Saturday. We haven't fished one this year yet. We fished the last couple of years, and like denjac said, there are a lot of good sticks in the winter series, very hard to finish high, usually we just donate. We had a 19lb bag last year and only got 3rd place. We're in a maroon skeeter or white/red nitro if you see us, come over and introduce yourself.
Tfsh4bass Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 OK T, since you admitted to wanting to ruffle feathers, I'm gonna have my say here and be done. 1. Fact: Fishing has been tough lately for everyone including the likes of Beck, Babler, the Davis brothers and the Fann brothers. Opinion: I'm at least slightly suspicious that only you are waylaying them in the shallows every time out. You aren't the only talented shallow-water angler on the lake. As you repeatedly stated, you aren't required to prove anything but likewise, I'm entitled to my opinion. 2. I suppose I lean toward the modest side, but I can't recall anyone here posting pic after pic of average-sized fish. Lots of us catch our fair share of fish. Donna and I have managed to beat out five-fish tournament limits two out of our last three trips, even tough as it has been. I post results of most of my trips here in hopes of helping others. If I catch em, I say so graciously. If I don't, I say so. Far as I can recall, I've only posted one pic since joining this site several years ago and that was a couple weeks ago because the fish was a rather large meanmouth. 3. The comment about "no fish left in the dam area" was not mine, but denjac's. Rest assured, I'm not the only one here suspicious. That's my 2 cents' worth and the last I have to say on this subject. At least you admitted...still BS but not really worried about it Based on Eric's report from 11-21 I would say the smallmouth are biting decent at the dam Dam Area: The smallmouth bite continues to be fantastic on the lower end of the lake. Shallow gravel points and flats worked with Chompers tubes can produce fish all day long right now. Look for long tapering points with a decent drop on either side to be the most productive. The deep bite has not fully materialized as of this week

I appreciate the support and thanks to those who have sent PM's and emails. I probably did get carried away with the pics and for that I apologize.
Sprint21fter Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Am I missing something here? I did not perceive that Champ188 was accusing Tfish4bass of taking pictures of the same fish? I have caught smallies on this lake for many, many years and I never noticed the white mark either. As far as I can see, Champ188 has always been a respectful poster on here. Sprint21fter is only adding to the confusion. Please figure this out, guys! We don't need this kind of stuff. There is no confusion, when someone is accusing another person of taking the same picture different times throughout the day of the same fish they need to be talked to. The guy showing the pictures is showing us the hard work that is paying off for him. He doesn't have to show us those pictures but he wanted to.
eric1978 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 What's up with the little white patch in exactly the same spot on the left gill plate of all those smallmouth? Is that specific to Table Rock smallmouth? Even the two in the pics from Thursday have it. It must be considering the smallmouth you posted from Shell Knob also has the same little white spot as do most of the smallmouth I have caught on Table Rock I think you two might have stumbeled on somthing I didnt realise. Maybe that is a gentic trait of Table Rock smallies. Will be interested in finding out . Just so y'all know, that white spot on the gill plate is not specific to Table Rock...I notice it on all smallmouth that are more than, say, 12 or 13 inches, and I've seen it on smaller ones as well. I don't know what it is, but apparently it's something they develop as they mature. Fish from the Meramec system... From the Gasconade system... From the Current River system...
redbud Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 interesting pics, sure look like white spots to me.that fish must really travel well.
Hogfan Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Hang in there T, I enjoy reading your posts and seeing the pics. It's a shame others try to discredit your success.
Members cyclonebass Posted November 24, 2010 Members Posted November 24, 2010 Tfsh, I enjoy your reports and pics (I also fish the indian point area alot), I hope this does not keep you from posting in the future. I live in Iowa and the ponds near my house are beginning to freeze for the winter, so those reports and pictures help me get through my cold winters of no fishing.
Quillback Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Yeah Tfish, keep the pics and reports coming, I think these forums are a place for people to post reports and pics if they so desire, but maybe you have to win a tournament and have a livewell full of 5 lb bass to be entitled to post a report. I've posted pics of mediocre fish myself, and not ashamed to admit I get a kick out of catching 15 inch bass.
Trout Commander Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Spots or not your fish pics were obviously different fish, Tfsh. I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. The latest Trout Commander blog post: Niangua River Six Pack
